Thanks for sharing!
I've seen it before, there are a few more of these...but nice find nevertheless!
Great pic, one of my favorites ever, Justus!
Here it is in a slightly higher resolution...

Yeah, i'm experiencing the same.
While some/most of my shared pictures are now replaced with this stupid 'Update now' pic by Photobucket my avataris still there but also hosted by PB...
I really do hope they will rethink their behaviour when they loose a good bunch of people unwilling to pay their ridiculous fees.

While most of us, at least some, have a problem with recasts or better recasters just out of our sense for justice, the 501st and thus the MEPD detachment also fine with it as long as the recasted armor is up to 501st/MEPD specs.
Personally i have always followed a antirecasting policy, at least since i found out about all of this, but that is just me!
I think it is to your credit that you have a bad feeling since you found out about this recaster of your armor.
Noone is to be blamed for his lack of knowledge as we all have been new to all this at some time!
Good luck with your build!

Like you said, i think this is one of the main reasons to use a photohoster and noone will pay $399 a year.
Funny but my sig is still there... at least for now!

I just realized that Photobucket.com won't host 3rd party pictures anymore!
That means that all pictures posted in public forums such as the MEPD forum won't show up anymore unless you pay for it from now on.
I used Photobucket from the very beginning and all pictures i ever posted here or in any other similar forum will not show anymore.
The only way to have your pictures back again is to pay Photobucket big money for it!
I will switch to another photohoster as soon as possible, i'm not going to payfor it...
Do you have the same problem and what free photohoster is the best in your opinion?

Soooo cool!

Looking good, maybe replace. your knee plate with a more accurate one before you're completly done with the legs!
Otherwise keep the good work up and one last advice...
Try to have your weathering not too different to other TD's in your Garrison, that way it won't make you stand out that much in public events!

I vote for TM's!
Hey Paul, nice to see you on this board again, mate!

Well done, looking really accurate, Constantin!
Do you plan to build the supporting part beneath also from scratch?
I'll take five, please!
-
I had the same issues, seem to be solved now! Thanks Admins!
-
I really can't believe it, i've spent literally hundreds of hours searching the www for this radio or any additional info but couldn't find anything usefull and now this...
Beside that it's a amazing piece, enjoy it!

Can't wait to see the results!
With two such experienced men involved this will be superb, no doubt!

It's not a real problem but whenever i enter the main forum on my Ipad i always have to adjust the size to see all of the website.
Here is what it looks like:
It might be a problem with my Ipad, let me know if i can do anything...

Thanks or clarifying this, i completly understand!
And welcome to the MEPD board, great to have you here!

Is there a way to have rubber parts permanently attached to plastic parts?
I ask because it would be absolutely kichass if there is a way to build the barrel with actual holes in itot just dents
That would add so much authenticity to the MG.
It always borhered me that the holes always had to be filled/closed for casting or pouring rubber casts, same with my MG-15...
-
I already followed your project over at the RPF board! Really nice results and i can only applaud that much dedication!
I wish i had enough time, space and craft skills to do such amazing work!
Keep it up, mate!

Happy Birthday! Now what's your gift?
-

Yep, exactly, bro! I agree, the form is needed to keep the pressure safe.
I'm a diver and that was one of the first things i learened! Since i always disliked the divers "backpack design" i had to ask...
There is no way the bottom design is like the movie bottles imho, at least not without heavy modifications made.
Unfortunatly, like i said before, there are literally hundreds of possibilities for a simple bottle. The onyl tell-tale might be the upper section which indeed looks a lot like a gas bottle.

You're kidding me, right? That's absolutely amazing!
Yours/Sci-fires have always been the best out here but such details are just stunning.
Didn't know it was even possible to achieve that clear details with rubber castings!?
These are the days of next level trooper stuff, can't wait to hear what else is coming up....

While searching for the vintage trays i stumbled across a lot of websites and at least nowadays the companies mostly have their trays either with or without drain holes.
Your right the form and dimensions are accurate, so we just need to find a unopened 70's storage with a bunch of trays without drain holes, though! Shouldn't be that hard, huh?

I do find it interesting that they did put the time and effort into plugging up the holes on the seed trays.
That's why i'm still not 100% sold with the seed trays! On the one hand they look too close to not what was used but on the other hand there might have been a vintage version without those drain holes back then. Who knows?!
Unfortunatly the people involved like the guys from the prop department don't remember anymore. Who can blame them after all those years with so many props to be build for a film that wasn't even expected to be prosperous.
I'm completely with you on all other points, they had access to only a few bits and pieces where most of the props were build from and i think it was Mr. Muir who said they bought everything else from stores around like the "boyscout" frames...
-
I guess that would have been to much work for the prop department to spend for just some random things like greeblies on a background charakter/item like the Sandtrooper/backpack then.
Since the bottles are that random we might never find the real used part if there aren't any more specific marks like a decal, logo...
Anyway, the size and proportions look great on yours, mate!
There have to be more reference pictures around.... some fine day someone will release them, i'm sure!
And i'm pretty sure there will be a 4k version of Star Wars coming up....

Btw. The detonator plate used for the TK detonators is completely different to the ones used on the TD backpacks!
Different shape, different proportions, different ribs...

If you need a TD accurate plate contact MEPD member ross8008 , i provided some reference pictures so he could update his mould for a more/most accurate TD plate! (great guy, btw!)
