  1. The Saga continues............... Somewhere on a far and distant planet that has two moons, a small workshop exists. The owner, called WoodChuck, provides weaponry and other assorted items to all space travelers. Recently he left the workshop, and traveled at light speed, deep into unknown parts of the local galaxy . His destination, Earth, Egypt to be exact. After some "financial compensation", a local guide looked the other way, allowing WoodChuck full access to an ancient abandoned tomb. He had to work in the dead of night because the heat in the desert during the day is unbearable. It took several hours of digging and crawling deep down a narrow sliver of an opening between two hugh monolith slabs of solid granite. The damp, humid odor reminded him of rotting mummys. Shining a battery-powered light, he noticed the rear wall reflecting strange shadows. Upon closer examination, he found symbols and figures carved into the face of the stone. Maybe Lucas was on to something. A version of this plaque was an easter egg that appeared on the back wall of the tomb where Indiana Jones finds The Lost Ark. I added a kicker to my version. The hieroglyphic symbols translate into the buyers name. $50 plus shipping.
  2. WoodChuck here. A trooper asked me to make this Alderaan blaster. Who uses it, RL or Dark Side?
  3. Woodchuck here. I just posted a run thread over in the PROJECTS ORDER forum. I am going to start a run of BFG T-21's on or about AUG 10th.
  4. After watching this, I realized how ancient my method of prop building has become. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZboxMsSz5Aw&feature=youtube_gdata_player
  5. WoodChuck here. The first SWW is now history. Disney knows how to thorw a party. Mr Lucas was there for the grand opening of the Star Tours ride. WOW! There are a lot of star wars fans !!!! The Florida heat was unforgiving, but they stood in line for up to two hours or longer to ride the Star tours ride. All fast passes were gone by 9 AM both Friday and Saturday, so you had better be there when the gates opened at 8 AM or be ready to just tuff it out in the long line. Jabba's Hut is where all of the SW merchandise was on display. Photo ops were great inside, and a lot of fans got signatures from some of the celebs that were on hand. Steve Sansweet was signing copies of his collectibles book. He also attended the 501st dinner at Hulihan's Saturday evening. I donated one of my Verpine sniper rifles for the raffle. The trooper who won it seemed very happy and plans to post a photo once he gets it painted, LOL. I tried to stop by every table and share my talent as a wizard with everyone there. My wife Pam, my son-in-law Richard, and I all had a wonderful time. Thanks, WoodChuck
  6. WoodChuck here. looking good, keep up the attention to detail.
  7. Woodchuck here. I had to get this private commission finished in order to meet the deadline. The bottom of the frame is 48 inches long, and the high point of the elipse is 28 inches. It s a giant peacock wall sculpture. the technique is called "Intarsia". There are 375 pieces of wood that had to be cut sanded and shaped to create the different depths shown in the photo. The elipse-shaped frame was made from dark walnut. Pure white aspen was used for the peacock. Each piece was hand painted by my wife and daughter.
  8. Woodchuck here. I do make the T-21 stock and receiver, along with the rest of the rifle, LOL http://woodchuck.imp.../bfg-lewis-gun/ I haven't offered just the stock and receiver because of the labor involved. All of the time consuming details are on the receiver. By the time I figure the cost, ($325) it's better to offer the entire rifle. How's this? If there is enough interest, to help me recover at least the cost of supplies and some of my time, I will consider building up a run of stocks and receivers and offering them at a special price ($200) to show the sand troopers I appreciate all the support they have given me since I was first asked to build props. If there are 10 sand troopers who want to build thir own BFG and are interested in this thread, let me know.
  9. Woodchuck here. I do make the stock and receiver, along with the rest of the rifle, LOL http://woodchuck.imperial-web.com/weaponry/sandtroopers/bfg-lewis-gun/ I started an interest thread, don't want to hijack this one.
  10. Woodchuck here. No wait, I am serious. This is a REAL tech tip, lots of good info: I said "Wood Glue" while showing the "Wood Filler," LOL. Oh and I fogot to include a source for the double-stick tape: www.shopsmith.com
  11. Woodchuck here. If anyone who has purchased one of my t-21's is having trouble modifying the clip to fit the sling, just send me the clip and sling and I'll mod it for you at no cost. Thanks, chuck
  12. Woodchuck here. A trooper sent me the sling to install on the last T-21 run. I made a wider loop out of some 1/8 inch diameter steel rod, and that worked as well. That sling had a wierd machine mark on it . It looked like the brass loop got caught up in the riveting tool during original assembly. The brass loop was kinked almost all the way thru, would have broken apart during the first use. This looks even easier to do, good find, thanks for sharing the tech tip.
  13. WoodChuck here. (Graps clip board, madly flips pages, sturring up a lot of sawdust) (FLIP FLIP FLIP) Roger roger, I see here that your name occupies the #1 slot on my next run of animated rifles, which will start...( graps calculator, TAP TAP TAP TAP, Hits the RETURN key a couple of times,) in about a week from tomorrow, give or take a day for doing the packing and shipping of current project contents.
  14. Woodchuck here. My DC-15 HE V2: The story line: Blastec used a lot of the same parts for the HE model as they did for the Long Rifle. The barrel has a silencer, allowing for stealth operation. The Energy Chamber concentrates the plasma bursts, allowing each round to take down space ships, buildings, or any form of artillery. The blue sights allow the sniper to pinpoint both trajectory and velocity, programming each round prior to being fired at the target. Also, the blue circle sights are programmed to each sniper's optic nerve and retina, so once programmed, no one else can fire the weapon. The receiver is the same as the long rifle, so each clone will already be used to the trigger pull. The butt stock stores four clips, each clip contains 7 rounds. PLEASE NOTE: The above is just a story, NOT actual FACTS. I think these are going to be showing up in the TV CW show, as snipers have already been featured in past episodes. Many of you know that DaveCT sent me a pattern for the DC-15 HE (HIGH ENERGY) Clone Sniper rifle. I built one off of his plans and took it to CV and received a lot of postivie feedback about the design. I just received another commision for one, so here is Version 2. I mounted BLUE LED's on top of the site posts and they light up when the red switch is toggled to ON. The Blue site circles are now mounted on a hinge and held in place by magnets. This provides a nice "Break-away" feature, should the blue circle be bumped. All four sections of the rifle interlock without tools, and come apart for easy storage. The bipod also is removeable in this version. Overall length: 64 inches Weight: 4 1/2 lbs. PM me for pricing details.
  15. WoodChuck here. Yep, I work with wood and my name is Chuck, so it's WoodChuck.....no brainer, but it works.
  16. WoodChuck here. I want to say thanks to everyone who sent me links to help find some of the small parts for this project. Here is a WIP photo, it is ready for painting.
  17. WoodChuck here. Great photos. What is that white stuff all over the ship's deck?? 82 here to day, Sunny, slight breeze. BTW, Your son looks great, and the mini T-21 looks to be just the right size for him.
  18. Woodchuck here. I met Cushman back in 2007, seemed nice enough. He was using an old electric kitchen oven and a hair dryer to heat his plastic sheet and an Oreck upright vacuum with an aux hose for the suction, LOL.
  19. Woodchuck here. thank you everyone for your replies. all parts have been located. Thanks for the link to the custom saber shop. Spot on!
  20. Woodchuck here. This run is closed. All four items have been built , payments received and shipment begins tomorrow.
  21. Woodchuck here. A trooper asked me to build a DARK FORCES - JEDI KNIGHT pistol blaster. I am having trouble finding the parts on the front of the pistol. The fins look like just a gear, maybe out of a automobile or lawn mower ?? The diameter should be around 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 inches. The round thingy on the front of the gear looks like a grommet, or spacer or bushing ?? The diameter of this part should be whatever looks right when placed onto the finned gear. The other three round thingys look like grommets too, just smaller diameters. Anyone know where I can get some of these? Thanks, Woodchuck
  22. Woodchuck here. What size is the engine? V8? Does it have a button you push and The Force propels it? Put a SMALL drop of 3-In-1 oil on each axle and wax the tires, and that baby will fly. LOL
