Thanks a lot bro! Having this comments is very encouraging. Thanks a lot Mike! The assembly was yours anyway. I just painted it and added the extras! Thanks a lot for that... Did I put the stripes wrong? LOL... I thought I counted several times how many the original prop had on each side to put them on... Anyway, Ill pm you in a minute... Thanks a lot for everything. Saludos...

Thanks a lot for your comments! Its been a long process but Im very happy with the results... I must say that all the help from everyone here has been very very useful. Otherwise I know it would not have come out like this. Thanks for all the comments, ideas and support. Saludos

THX pappy... I just thought it would be funny. I dont know if Ill do it anyway, probably not. If I could get a new faceplate more like the sonix one, I might do the signs to this one. But now for a while I guess... So this brings me another question: If the Sonix radio has all this signs, could it be that we just dont notice it on the film due to resolution, or were they painted black. Or maybe the radioboxes were not sonix radios but just replicas... I guess I will read the whole Sonix thread again in case I missed this... My blog is updated with my bucket, backpack and other stuff. Also, my facebook library has all the pictures of the building of them both... Didnt know you read my blog. Thanks a lot Saludos.

I dont know if anyone has come with something like this before but... What do you think of trying to mimic the Sonix Radio faceplate but making it a bit more imperial?, like this: Do you think it would make it more cool, or would it just be a step backwards from accuracy? Saludos

THX a lot bro... I did get Stomper's Hovis. They are great. I was lucky enough to get the built in speaker version so I will eventually connect them to an amplifier or something... Gracias! Saludos...

So I finally finished my bucket and just yesterday I found the courage to weather it. I did it following Mike's tutorial video and tried my best. Used acrylic paint (black, yellow, brown), and some artificial sand for miniatures with hair spray. Here are the results. I am still not 100% convinced on the yellow. I think it is too much. I guess I will try and remove a bit of the yellow "sand" and maybe use just a bit of brownish or tan artificial "sand". Other than that, I think I am happy with the colors and texture. And although my armor is more blackish-grey than yellow-brown, I am planning to redo my armors weathering. I like the less is more approach, but I think I went a bit to far with the bucket. Maybe Ill try to remove a bit of color, or just waith till it wears down naturally. What do you think? Here is a picture or my armor, so your opinion on what to do to make the match (either on the bucket or on the armor) are more than welcome. Thanks a lot for all your help! And specially thanks to Mike for that great tutorial... Saludos

Well, This is it I guess... Yesterday I finished the weathering and this is how it came. I still have a few doubts on how it looks, but I will post in the weathering section... Thanks a lot for all your comments, suggestions and compliments. They were great help. THX! Saludos

Looking great Nol... Im not assembling expert or anything so I guess I would just advice you to follow Mike's advice. LOL! Your bucket looks great... And I will also advice to use Mike's decals if you are looking for an easier great solution for handpainted look. They are amazing and look just perfect. Saludos!

This is lots of fun... in many situations you can have the eyes of the helmet ponting in some direction while you are actually looking another way. So if you suddenly turn towards ppl who were looking at you but think you are not, they will react in a lot of different many times funny ways. Also, I dont know why ppl sometimes asume you cant see (or hear) them so take this in consideration when iteracting with them. Saludos

I thought it was "lets go grocery shopping" time... Saludos

Thanks a lot... Ill be working on the weathering soon... and posting some pictures afterwards. THX for all the comments and good vibe. Saludos

My hamburger stacker/siphon so far. What do you think?

OK, Last advance before its done. This time I did the toolbox and the top bottle with mushroom cap. I had to use some electricians tape all around the toolbox to fix it cause it look weird when it was closed. Do you think I should take it away or it doesn't bother that much? Thanks for all your comments. Saludos. -
Hey Nol... Ive seen your pictures at facebook and it's looking great! Keep us posted about your progress! Saludos

dont be disappointed bro... sometimes it takes a while for ppl to reply to threads... Anyway, here are a few of my thoughts on your backpack... First of all I must say that for a overnight rushed backpack, it looks good. There is room for some updates I guess... Some suggestions to make it more accurate: 1. The sand looks more like mud than sand. Try to clean up the weathering and then maybe follow some of the threads on weathering in the forum. I would use hairspray or similar and the fullers earth or actual dirt. Try to make it more natural and less "painted". 2. Maybe try and upgrade the "air filter" on top left for a shorter wider one. Or maybe try and make one of the more accurate filters (there are a few threads about alternatives). 3. It seems to me that the tube on the left to the burger stacker is a bit short. 4. You are missing the little tip on the bee stinger. 5. The burger stacker is missing the "level" rings... maybe use rubber bands to simulate them. I did and the results are acceptable. 6.The bottles are fine I guess, but if you could replace them with some more cylindrical and wider bottles it would be great. Twinki looks fine, and so looks the mortar tube. Radar dish must be replaced with the tupperware lid if you want it to be accurate. Overall, I think it is a fine backpack... all this are just suggestions. But I think if you could just redo the weathering, it would give it a much better look and feel all around. Hope it helps... Saludos

Also, Im almost done, just waiting for (maybe) getting a stow n go tupperware for the tool box from my aunt. Hope to get it... other than that, I just need to finish and paint the mortar tube and radar dish... Any comments are welcome? Saludos -

YEP! We NEED them! LOL!! saludos -
Just like you, Ive never been a fan of the Expanded Universe... But I do like to think about the TDs we see in ANH as part of a bigger experience for me. I mean, when in armor I am a TD from the MEPD thats could or could not be one of the TDs that appear in the movie. If, there was a group of TDs stationed in Tatooine before the Attack to the Tantive IV, I guess Vader had no real authority over them. This because as we can see, he was just some guy with special capabilities in enforcing the emperors will, not in anyway an Imperial Officer. But, the detachment sent to Tatooine was assigned by the emperor to vader to do the dirty stuff he needed to and being under no ones command other than the emperor's himself (and probably Tarkin). Kind of like the director of the CIA having no real power over the NYPD or some other PD. Anyway, this detachment was said later that was part or was the evolution of the 501st Legion as seen in Ep III. But that is what I think anyway... but as you said, nothing in the movies, specially in the OT tells us any of this stuff... so... I guess its all, as has been said before, make believe. Anyway, are you also asking who came with the name for the detachment and why? That would be interesting to know for those of us who don't know. Saludos...

THX a lot Bro. I appreciate that. I finished the exhaust port box last night. Here are 2 picts of the backpack almost done. Most pieces are in place now I just need to cut some stuff here, glue some stuff there and paint every piece to finally put everything where it belongs. Thoughts and suggestions are more than welcome... Saludos -

It was not the idea for this thread, but it has become my BP building thread... so, anyway... here more picts, now of the construction of the toolbox. I used a couple of "danger" signs from the home Depot. I guess it is some kind of 1.5mm HIPS. And following pappy's suggestion I decided to try with E6000 glue instead of the screws for the magnets. So far I like it a lot. Now I really want to finish it and go a arrest some jawas or something. Saludos -
LOL! Well... Ive been thinking about that for a while... since My hair wont fit inside the helmet... but go all the way and shave it, I dont know.. THX! Saludos

THX a lot Pappy! THX Sandman! I painted the inside after the helmet was already put toguether by Mike A. The paint is just regular gloss black spray paint. I just masked the parts I didnt wanted to get painted (signatures, frown, eyes) and the outer part aswell... And then did the same thing but the other way around, masking the inside and the eyes and frown from the inside. I also masked the openings between the face and dome and around the ears. Hope this helps... Saludos.

THX bro. Im not that skilled but I love building stuff so... I could use a little patience tho. Just a little update: worked on the closing system for the black seedtray and again based on Mike's photos, I did this with door magnets: Im planning on painting the screw heads black. Hopefully they wont show much. THX... Saludos -
I finally finished my bucket... here are some pictures... Still to be done the weathering and some padding on the inside... Thx for all your words and encouraging! Saludos
