  1. I almost got done with a Lego Commander Cody costume for my six year old this past Halloween. I caught the flu and didn't get to finish it...but I can try to put together a list of stuff I used and a tutorial if you'd like. For the helmet, I used a modified Hasbro Clone helmet...not sure what you'd use for the Sandtrooper...maybe see if AP or ATA have some "factory second" pulls they would discount for you.
  2. Thanks, that's the kind of advice I'm looking for. How does the blue color look? It's Valspar 85026 "Satin Encounter".
  3. It's been awhile since i worked on anything, so I got bored and decided to put together a TD. I am on the ATA wait list, and in the meantime I've been working on the backpack, more or less following Scootch's tutorial. What do we think?
  4. http://www.ebay.com/...=item231a99315f You need the lid.
  5. As I understand it, hydro testing is the responsibility of the "authorized recycling center" (the merchant) and not the place that actually refills the tanks for the merchants. The problem there is that (at least here in Texas) there are no merchants that have the equipment to test the bottles, they just have to be certified to be ABLE to test the bottles, and that is apparently good enough. Again, who BBQs with propane anyways, besides Hank Hill? Real smoke beats liquid smoke any day.
  6. uh...5'11" and my average weight is about 220, even when I'm in real good shape (which isn't often since I turned 35). All my weight is carried in my thighs (huuge thighs) and my shoulders. According to the military height/weight table, I should weigh 180. I haven't been 180 since the tenth grade. I'd have to cut off a leg to be 180 again.
  7. Sorry it took so long...here's a quick and crappy diagram for wiring the batteries in series. The AA battery holder here is Radio Shack Model: 270-382 Catalog #: 270-382. It uses a 9v snap connector, they have those at Rat Shack too. Should yield you 12 volts and more life than a single 9v. I haven't tried this on anything other than EMG bass pickups, so let me know if it works okay.
  8. Hey, all. new recruit just getting started. I've done Mandalorian and TIE Pilot, next step is a TD. been lurking for over a year, gathering info. Excellent resources here.
  9. It's pretty easy to wore up a 9v and two AAs to give you 12 volts with less space.
