  1. @Steve: Added a picture of the 'model' as suggested. Don't know why I didn't think of it in the first place.

@Seth: Got a link to a Stolla Wien pic? All I found doing a quick search was what looked like a single pouch with 3 top flaps.

@Xavier: Don't know how quick it would happen at this point, this is just a feeler so I can get back to him with some sort of indicator of whether enough people would be interested for him to be willing to go through the effort.

The idea is to make them so that they can be hung from the belt & shoulder with minimal work. (No need to hack off the diagonal straps found on the back of the real ones.)

  2. I just got a set of custom under armor from Wyatt over on the FISD, and it is SWEET!!

He does custom jobs that include the neck seal, and this is an awesome idea. He has been running ebay auctions so as not to get too burned out.

    Just another option.

Got an ebay ID, or contact info for him? I've just discovered that my under armor is losing the outside seam on the left calf, and I'm a fairly tall guy (6'2"), so it's kinda short in the arms anyway. I might be interested in a set that would fit me right at some point in the near future.

  3. Hey guys, I'm back from an extended sabbatical from these forums. I've got a friend who does leather working, and talked to him about the idea of making a batch of MP-40 replica pouches. I showed him mine, and he said he could do it pretty easily, but he'd need a decent sized order for it to be worth his time.

So, I figured I'd post here to find out what everyone thought of getting some MP-40 pouches that would already be dyed black, and strapped to hang on our armor?

Feel free to suggest pricing. After all, this is just a feeler at this point.

They'd be based on the pouches I got from bulk purchase slave1pilot did 2005. I've since seen some pictures of pouches with tapered tips to the flaps, and that would be an easy alteration if more people want that.

EDIT: No dice. Life hit the fan for him as it were. If/when that status changes, I'll post again.

  4. I don't know about the liner in particular, but I've been using 'Plumbing Goop' as my adhesive of choice on all my armor assembly. I've used the stuff in the past (a different variety, though), and I've never had a problem with it melting due to heat or anything like that.

  5. I've been using a type of 'GOOP' that is suited for ABS plastics. It seemed to be working pretty well up to the point that I had to stop because the weather got too cold to work in the garage.

  6. I recently spotted a post where someone asked why there weren't 's with black, grey, and white pauldrons. That hit me as a somewhat sensible questiong given the focus here, so I took a few minutes and created a full set (complete with dirt on the pauldrons).

Unfortunately I don't currently have any where I can put them to demo them, but they're only 2.11KB zipped. If anyone is interested I can email them.

  7. I'm going with a hardhat liner in my Authenticprops bucket as well. If I used any of the foam for the top of my head I was staring at the plastic between the eyes and the frown. I'm probably going to go with velcro attachment for the liner. (I figure I've got enough to spare since I've used glue for connecting the various arm/leg shell pieces.

  8. Oh, well. Since I accidentally hijacked my own thread, I may as well ask a now kind of related question here. What is the actual URL for the RPF? I've found a bunch of references to rpf.prop-planet.com, but it gives me a page full of references to airplanes and propellers, but not a replica prop (much less a forum about them) in sight.

  9. It's a GF kit. Unfortunately, I don't have any shots of the armor yet. Its all trimmed (except the missing forearm pieces, and ready to start gluing, but since I can't hit my Halloween target I'm going to go extra careful.

On a different topic, why call the AA/SDS bucket 'dodgy'? I thought those were done with the original moulds.
