After painting the teeth, chin, and ears, I decided to add the decals and apply some weathering. Not nearly done, though. Still need to add the lenses, mics, rubbing banding and then the lining for the interior. Lemme know what ya think!

Okay, so trooping today w/ someone else's TK armor gave me inspiration to paint the rest of my TD helmet. I still need to do the weathering and the decals. I taped-off the areas immediately around the ears, mouth, and chin piece so the paint wouldn't be brushed onto it. So, when ya see the sloppy paint job, it's on the tape

Thanks for the reference. So you think a compound will take care of it? I have a hand-held Dremel tool that has several "buffing" pads on it. Would that do the trick, or something larger?

Good to hear The paint didn't run at all, which I am pleased to say, so it won't turn out too bad. Next, should I be applying the decals? Placing foam into the inner part of the bucket for padding? Adding the lenses? Weathering?

The paint job isn't that horrible. It still has a gloss to it, but upon very close inspection, you can see the marks. They're super tiny. Does the Sandtrooper want to have a super glossy finish anyway? Their paint jobs seemed a bit "duller" compared to other Troopers.

I need pouches too. Black in color. If anyone has any clue where to find them, that'd be great I keep checking eBay but nothing close to what the movies had. Thanks!

What did you use to secure the lenses? E6000?

The Rustolium spray paint has something to be desired. I'm not happy with the way the paint job finished out. It almost looks as if small particles were present when I sprayed it on? There are very, very tiny craters/bubble marks (if that makes sense) along some areas. I dont think it will make a huge difference since it may actually help the weathering effect to the helmet, but what went wrong? I'll try to post pictures tomorrow during daylight.

After rubbing the bucket down with a scotchbright pad, I brushed it off then set it outside on top of a pipe, then placed a wighead onto the pipe to rest the helmet. I used Rustolium Professional Gloss White for the first coat. Waiting for it to dry to add a second and possibly a third. Any pointers? Suggestions?

SOme of the small screws that attach the "ears" to the bucket aren't completely flush with the rest of the helmet. IS there a way to make them flush, or should I just go ahead and put the primer on, after I've scuffed it up w. a scotchbright pad? Need some pointers. Thanks!

Update: Just got the neckseal in the mail a couple days ago and bought a black under-armor shirt and some black men's dancing tights for the under piece.

I'm going with what I can afford right now However, I am in full support of a "Tatooineboy TE2 armor" charity.

Until someone else buys it for me (ahem!), I'll settle for some FX armor in the mean time . . . ~shifty eyed~

Hey folks, Well, I've made my first purchases for the TD armor! TE2 Helmet (yay!) Size 12 Stormtrooper boots from caboots.com Orange Shoulder Pauldron Ribbed neckband Just have to wait for the items to come in. I plan on getting the dive skin sometime this weekend, too. I'll keep you guys update when the items arrive.
