  1. Good to see you back Joe. Now that your done slacking get out there and kick butt.
  2. Hmmm, wellll, mmmm, uh. Ok its only an hour and a half away, shucks why not.
  3. I understand your position Tony. It just irritates me that the legion didn't put a stop to this when it started and now there are a bunch of people that slap different parts of costumes together and figure that they saw it in a comic so it must be fine. Most if not all of the referance material that is being used to support TK's wearing pauldrons was written by those that had no understanding of their use and thought it looked cool to slap one on. Its the same with boob armor for example. I bet if I wanted to spend the time and effort i could find 3 examples with all the comics out there and present it to the legion. With 3 examples I could get it made an acceptable costume. How would that look? Not very good but when you start the trend with pauldrons where does it stop? I feel the MEPD, expecially our leadership, should be activly persuing this matter with the legion leadership. If these guys want to wear them at non canon or non official events then I really don't care as I know what is right (just look at the kilted troopers) but at least on the website have the TK's wearing pauldrons resubmitt pictures without pauldrons. Or if there are official legion or garrison pictures being taken have them removed off the TK's. Is not the legion looking to the detachments such as ours, the sith lords and others to get guidance from them as to what the standards are for their respective costumes? If so we should stress that they are part of a TD's costume, not a TK's. Am i being protective of our right to wear pauldrons? Heck yea. Pretty soon TK's are going to be slapping on backpacks also (actually I have seen this done allready) and ammo pouches, there was referance material to support that posted in that thread. Pretty soon the only difference is going to be that we put on some dirt so what incentive will there be to become a TD? Anyways, peace brother TD, i will quite rambling on now.
  4. International bounderies mean nothing, your a brother trooper and of course your welcome.
  5. Gee, I remember when the 501st use to take their "costuming" to the next level. Now were looking at comic books to justify diluting that level of professionalism. Sad, very sad. To stand by and not say anything is to be part of the problem. Avatar man you brought up an excellent point in my opinion.
  6. Interesting topic in regards to TK's wearing pauldrons going on, the legion membership officer is considering whether to allow TK's to wear pauldrons and is looking for reference material to support allowing them to wear pauldrons. You might want to chime in with your opinions on whether TK's should be allowed to wear them or if its a TD piece of gear. The discussion is going on over at the legion website http://www.501stforums.com/forum/viewtopic...der=asc&start=0
  7. Yep, everytime I visited last night my AVG went crazy. Fortunatly it picked it up as soon as it happened, while still at the main page, and I was able to go in and delete the file. It kept putting it in the C:Documents and Settings(insert name here)Local SettingsTemporary Internet FilesContent.IE5 folder. Sucked, but at least I was able to catch it before it could harm anything.
  8. I have some extra V2 patches. I would be willing to trade one for a 501st legion patch.
  9. Hyperdyene has been out of the trooper boards for quite a while now. I recently purchased one of his vortex boards an am extremly pleased with it. One feature that is very handy is that the input/output uses only one channel of the stereo (the left I believe). You can hook up an extra microphone to the other input and have it output to a speaker in your helmet. Now if that extra mic is placed somewhere outside your armor inconspicuously you can pipe in to your helmet outside noise i.e. others talking to you making it so much easier to hear all those questions everyone around you are asking. Also it has a feedback cancelling feature that works fantasticly. I am able to turn my amp up full volume without any feedback at all.
  10. Yep, music. I have the Imperial March and the Star Wars theme on a cd along with some radio chatter. Of course if I get tired of hearing them all day I could allway pop in some Pink Floyd. And boy that sucker can be loud at full volume.
  11. Got in just fine, everything is working also. PM's worked, browsing around worked and if this post then posting worked.
  12. I finally got around to getting some pictures of my pack uploaded. There under my album if you want to check them out.
  13. Somebody will allways have to drive/fly/ride farther than someone else. Los Angeles to Indy is 2062 miles while New York to Indy is 723 miles so west coasters have allways had to go twice the distance as east coasters. So the Celebration is no where even close to being roughly equal from coast to coast. I go yearly to a convention in Vegas and every major hotel offers free shuttle service to the convention center and Vegas now has a tram system that will take you anywhere on the strip and to the convention center for just about 3 bucks, much cheaper than a cab. Heck for 45 bucks a night I get a room at the Sahara which is basically right next to the convention center. I am sure that Las Vegas is campagning hard to get this event moved to their city as that is a huge source of income to them and they are probably the convention capitol of the world. I am sure they are pumping a lot of resources into getting this moved because as they see it convention goers = gamblers. They are probably even offering lots of incentives to move it there. I think a lot of east coasters would show up because as was said earlier "its Vegas, baby. After going to the con you can walk five minutes in just about any direction and get a great meal at a fantastic resteraunt, gamble, hit the bar, hit the dance floor, see a big name concert or a broadway style show. It would be like taking 2 vacations at once. Personally I think it would be a good thing to move it to Vegas, I give the idea a big thumbs up.
  14. Yea, camel pak's are great for trooping.
  15. Nice. The only problem I see is that weapon you have there, you need to weld that thing on if you plan on keeping it there because it will end up as someones souviner. People sometimes think we are a walking souviner shop and will actually try to pull pieces of your armor off to take home.
  16. Good God Roman, warn me next time. I almost choked on my soda after that and my wife thought she was going to have to call the paramedics. Chris TD-963
  17. Thats to funny. But I gotta say that is a great picture. As far as the beer in the next post you just know any trooper worth his salt would have figured out a way to enjoy a cool one. I can just imagine a straw snaking out from beneath the helmet...lol.
  18. Hehe, yea but lets see them get back up unassisted. They might be able to but I bet I would split a stich because it would be hilarious to watch. Chris TD-963
  19. He just finished selling his last batch. They go pretty fast so you need to keep an eye on his site. If you read his forums section you can keep up with his current production run and get onto the list to buy one.
  20. I have a modded spacepack myself, got it several years ago when they first started producing them. From what I have been able to gather they have gone out of buisness. I heard they were under pressure from LFL and ended up kaput. A shame really, I love my spacepack, tons of storage room and they look awsome. I am glad I was able to get one when I did.
  21. And where does anyone see a sandtrooper with binocs or binders? I reviewed my copy of ANH several times and nowhere did I see these items. This is from the boxed vhs set yet in the photo gallery in the santrooper referance section we clearly see a sandtrooper with binocs. Must be from the later released special edition where they added to the film. Thing is in those pictures the trooper with the binocs also clearly has drop boxes. So just how far do we take it? What do we accept as "canon"? I would say there should be some general guidlines and we shouldn't nit pick every little detail. I thing the guidlines given by the 501st and what is posted on this site as extra requirements; -Flat Lenses (I dont care what color they are as long as there flat) -Backpack -MP40 or 38 ammo pouches, -BFG (Either the Lewis 21, MG15, or the MG34 type) -Diamond Knee plates -Sandtrooper Stomach plate* -GET DIRTY works well as they are pretty standard with what is in the film. I would also say get rid of the drop boxes as they are not seen on the sandtroopers in the film and are a general pain in the butt anyways. Thats my 2 cents, I would be interested in seeing what others think also.
  22. Cool, ok tell you what, put me down for 1 right now. Lets see if we can get enough other interest to make up an order. I'll keep an eye on this post to see how it goes.
  23. Ok, I have two sites for you. This one, http://www.starfortressproductions.com/swtheempire.html , has them down towards the middle of the page. They are not exact reproductions but could be modified if your that picky about it. I think his prices arn't to bad but his shipping is outragous. The other, http://www.ashtonomicon.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=32 , is much nicer but I have sent this guy several e-mails but he hasn't responded yet. He is a member of the 501st so if anyone knowes him ask him to get back to me. Both of these are done in leather but the second one is the one I would like to order if he ever gets back to me.
  24. Really? I would much rather order one than trust some unknown e-bay seller if at all possible. How much would they be cause I might be interested in one or two.
