  1. I know what that's like and I can tell you put a ton of effort. I will see about reading some more. Looking back I remember now reading some and commenting on the Death Star's hyperdrive capabilities.
  2. One of these days I gotta sit down and just read, read, read. I really enjoy fan fiction and have written a lot for the tfn forums. Sadly no TD stories though...yet. Keep up the great work! I hope to get a chance and offer some feedback soon.
  3. After reviewing three pages of backpack images and references I've come to some conclusions about rebuilding mine/building a second one. -It's going to be difficult to get a perfectly accurate looking backpack -building a custom pack to qualify under the "two box with smaller boxes and canisters" rule is going to be more fun. -It looks so easy -It's much harder than it looks -I'm going to incorporate some of the boxes/canisters to double up as housing for my radio shack personal microphone system and also a means to drink water from using either my camel pack to fit in one of the larger boxes with some of those small diameter wire loom tubes to cover the wiring and sipping tube to go under my bucket from behind. This should be interesting -It's gotta be as light as possible
  4. Looks awesome! I have one of those that I got from a trade. It needs a lot of work. The tip of the barrel broke off. It was pretty cracked when I got it. Hopefully with enough reference pics, some bondo, etc, I can add a lot more detail and sharpness to mine. But that's a project for another day. You did great!
  5. I'm upgrading my back pack. And look what I scored today at a thrift store!?
  6. Oh, that's good to know! Thanks!
  7. Hey Dave! Right on, thanks! If I can't find another leather set to match the one I now have I'll definitely order one of these. I like the price too! The Alpine Garrison is sure representin'!
  8. Gotcha. I have done away with my drop boxes so as soon as I can find this elusive ammo pouch, I'm good to go. If anyone has an extra or a lead, I'd be much obliged.
  9. I also see pics with TD's wearing drop boxes. Maybe these are outdated. All I need is another ammo pouch and I'll apply.
  10. Yes it has. I just noticed something in some of the pictures of the deployed trooper images. Some only have one ammo pouch. Am I missing something (aside from a secondary mandatory/optional pouch)? Otherwise I think I'm ready for deployment. Sir!
  11. Well crap. I guess I need to find another set of ammo pouches for the belt. I think I have everything else: Am I missing anything else?
  12. Thanks, Don! Gotta round up some pics!
  13. Well, dangit, I think I've everything I need to finally be MEPD, but my backpack fell apart at the last event. I let a garrison mate wear it and as we were suiting him down I dropped it on the asphalt and it kind of fell apart. I gotta look around here for the application or list or whatever I need to finally be deployed. Sorry my participation here is sporadic. I'm sure nobody misses me anyway.
  14. That's a beauty! Good luck to all bidders!
  15. Can you show me a pic, please? I'm also wondering if all you MEPD troopers have matching pouches. I don't suppose it matters if the next one I buy matches the one I have. Mine has three pouches and has a sort of reptile texture. This is an old pic. Still doing upgrades like shoulder straps, etc. Once you click the link you can click on it again to enlarge the image.
  16. Update: I now have an MG-34 rifle to add to my costume! I'm getting closer... I still need: 1. attach ab plate and sniper knee 2. find a second ammo pouch. I have one only. I think that's it!
  17. Just started reading it. I'm also a fic writer on TFN. Cool! Oh by the way, not sure if your die hard into continuity, but even though it's never mentioned whether or not the Death Star is hyperdrive capable, check out the Q&A section of the latest SW Insider Magazine, page 35. Looking forward to reading your story. By the way, what is the MFP about? I understand it's a group of TD's, but is this sort of like another detachment?
  18. I bought tickets and will definitely be there. I should be MEPD by then if accepted. My armor is dirty, have yet to install my ab plate and sniper knee. I have a backpack and a rifle blaster. Marc TD-4246
  19. Thanks! I am curious about one thing. What is the ratio of FX armor to TE/ANH at MEPD? I feel inadequate about not having the more accurate looking armor, but alas, I haven't hit the jackpot yet! I have, however, been able to fit into an ANH set, which belongs to my good friend:
  20. So a friend of mine who is likely to soon become MEPD came over today and we worked on a lot of mods to my armor. If it wasn't for him, I'd take infinitely longer with my hectic schedule. So...accomplished today was snaps, rivets and a cool harness system for my back pack. All that's left is shims and attaching the sniper knee and ab plate. Afterwards, I'm going to do the final dirtying up. Still going to improve the backpack a little. I'll get pics up sometime soon. (Yeah right, look how long it's taken me to get to this point!)
  21. Thanks. Right now, though, I'm trying to get out of debt. Lost over 5 grand in air tools and power tools that were stolen from my company trailer. Gonna take a while to have a lot of petty cash again.
  22. Thanks. Forgive the corniness of my pictures. It was a long hot day and I had to cheer up my garrison mates. My next big project is fine tuning my back pack. Can't decide what BFG to make or buy. Opinions anyone?
  23. I'm certainly going to try. On top of domestic life (wife and family) I own a business and am very busy. I'm also active in my garrison, legion and another detachment forum. Some of you might know me better for my Jango costume. I've had my TK armor longer, but have finally begun to work on it to make the final transition to TD. It's been dirty for over a year, but still needs work to be worthy of MEPD. It takes long to make everything as perfect as possible. Wish I had the more accurate TE or SDS but after spending over two grand on Jango, one overpriced costume is enough. Also been trooping a lot in my armor. I made a bit of a spoof out of a recent event supporting that Free Comic Book Day, if anybody heard about it... TD transferred from Tatooine to Earth: Trooper TD-4246 is assigned to the Free Comic Book event in Layton, Utah. "In the name of the Empire, give us all your credits!" He discovers sarsparilla root beer for the first time. Unbeknownst to him, the bartender spikes it with some whiskey. TD-4246, somewhat tipsy, feels the woes of his job as a ruthless killer for the Empire and seeks to make amends and shows his true feelings. TD-3129 shares remorse and they end up drinking more Sarsparilla than they can handle. "I love you, man!" Too bad he can't see straight. "I love you, tree!" "I love you, frog!" "I love you, cement column!" "I love you, fake indoor palm tree!" "I love you, Wolverine!" "I love you, Smoothie guy!" Yes, TD-4246 finds redemption on earth and vows to continue helping them. Just as soon as the Sarsparilla wears off.
  24. Is "hidth" a new way of saying height and width together? Sorry, been out of the loop for a long time.
