Finished my helmet, was not as bad as I had thought it would be. I put the fans and flat lenses in. The AMP that I had ordered will not work. When pluging the mic in,there is nothing but a faint white noise that is uneffected by the volume control, but if you listen close you can here radio signal of some kind. Anyway I emailed the seller . So I am just alittle ,Ok majorly dissapointed about this. (One of several set backs so far)

I saw some were on the net, and I thouht that I saved it. Some one had used the the elastic type material used on weight lifting knee supports. The artical delt with attaching the cannister with snaps to prevent people from stealing it. The elastic was placed around a firm piece , but I have looked and looked and I just can't find it.

Started work on my armor and was wanting to know, as a sandy with a back pack we don't need the cannister do we? I can attach the cannister plate to my pack tube can't I ?

I got bored yesterday and the wife sent me to the garage to find something to do sence I am waiting to loose a few lbs before finalizing the the armor. I started work on a pair of Electro-binoculars. I started with the only piece of wood I had, and then went to wal-mart. There I got a few things I thought I could use. A For Sale sign ( never buy hobby store styrene.)You can get the signs in several thicknesses. I also picked up this little shower caddy thing some chair glider buttons and rubber leg covers. The rest of the detail was fom bottle caps and and old rubber flash light cover, and a couple of picture hanging rings left over from the blaster project. Anyway it was a lot of fun,but is it close enough to use as part of my completed look when I place my application in to the MEPD.

I don't like the boxes either, and most likley will replace them latter. The weathing was done with a primer color called rust, and a Krylon camo color called Khaki. Working in small sections. I sprayed the areas that I thought would collect dust ,and wiped with arag . then the whole pack was given a very light misting of the Khaki. I wanted a red desert look.

Being very new here I searched the net, written to several members of the 501st before taking the plunge. I finished my backpack this weekend and now I just need to weather it. I too found many different designs by looking at movie stills,fan produced and even looked at the action figures and ended up picking the battery box design with a few details borrowed from the others. I have not figured out how to post photos here yet , sorry. But if one of you would like to tell me how I did I can send you a photo . Comments would be very welcome, I want to do this correctly.
