  1. Indeed I do, you're one of my Facebook contact! Welcome aboard, Noel and if you're going the sandy direction remember its the ANH and not ESB bucket!
  2. You can say that again bro. No more polishing armor using Novus Armor Polish before each trooping which I've been doing right up to my last trooping on 16 August. Shhhh don't tell anyone that I didn't even polish my TK armor as preparation in advance to being a TD. Looking forward to get started on this, right after I've launched a potential 501st Outpost member off her Snowtrooper costume project.
  3. Bro all in good time and thanks for your sharing with me the 4th color from Woodland Scenics that you've used. Bad @$$ look you bet bro, otherwise how will the local population abide with rule of Galactic Empire Law enforced by the MEPD? Besides that it will be more dirt to play with after spending a year as a spanking CLEAN Snowtrooper Commander!
  4. dutchy, you've assumed correctly and I will indeed post a new thread in the Imperial Issued Armor section of the forums to share with everyone the pictorial results of my converted FX-TK Armor to a MEPD Deployable set of TD Armor. I've used the Correct TD Abdomen Armor Plate and the 3 Button Strip Plate casted in HIPS by TrooperMaster. Also I've added White Plastic Side Plates to close up the gaps on the Left & Right sides since my Front and Back Abdomen Pieces don't meet. <_< Yeah due to my waist size that fluctuates between 35" to 36". In addition these, I've used off-white canvas shoulder straps and Belt as well filling up the rivet holes on my FX Armor. But wait till you see THE ANH STUNT Helmet that I've upgraded to from my FX bucket. You used 4 colors from Woodland Scenics? I'll be using the basic three - Raw Umber, Yellow Ochre and Burnt Umber recommended in http://www.looksirdroids.com/replica_dirty_tutorial.htm Which is the 4th color that you've used? I'll be going for the heavily weathered look from the "Look Sir, Droids!" scene, and I expect to spend some time getting the look right. Looking at your pictures, I can see that you've weathered your armor to match the "Move along, move along" scene look. I'll post the pictures of my weathered ANH STUNT Helmet and converted FX Armor in a thread in this Weathering section of the forums, when they are done. I'm targetting to debut as the Sandtrooper Squad Officer in an upcoming charity event planned for October 2008.
  5. No dutchy mine is the FX Armor from the neck down, plus the necessary parts on the abdomen from TrooperMaster. I'll soon be weathering mine using the 3 prescribed Woodland Scenics color pigments and giving my armor a sandy grained textured finish using Fuller's Earth combo of Desert Yellow and Mocha Brown.
  6. Looking good dutchy and I hope that mine will turn out as good as yours.
  7. When I first acquired my armor, it was held together by rivets. When I did further modifications to fit me, I've substituted some rivetted parts with Snaps and reinforced some areas with Industrial Velcro.
  8. The T-tracks that I've acquired is made out of sturdy ABS Plastic, and I'll post a picture later. It is made in red-brown color.
  9. BountyHunter thanks for sharing the pictures of your impressive scratchbuilt DLT-19. I hope that mine will be as good as yours when it is assembled and painted.
  10. Paul, thanks for sharing those wonderful vacation pics with Tony and his missus. Without a doubt a great time you've had.
  11. Peter - TR/DZ/TK/TS-2870 http://www.501stlegion.org/members/display...php?userID=5370 requesting 501st Legion member's access again. Thanks!
  12. Thanks for confirming this Paul. I've already gotten my T-Tracks where l'll need to trim them slightly before fitting my PVC barrel. Got a bit sidetracked from my Sandtrooper project in view of local trooping events (our first DROID HUNT and upcoming CLONE WARS movie) and incoming new 501st members.
  13. Mike thanks for providing the T-track quantities in your response. After further reading a few related DLT-19 threads, one which brought me to BLASTECH DLT-19 HEAVY BLASTER RIFLE that was wonderfully documented by braksbuddy and provided this important template : and pictures of the Forward Fins on DLT-19 Barrel and pictures of the Rear Fins on DLT-19 Barrel I noticed that there altogether 6 strips of T-tracks on the barrel. Do you require T-tracks to be affixed to the DLT-19 barrel according to this Visual Guide, to qualify for MEPD Deployment?
  14. Hi Chris a.k.a. "Smitty" thanks for your T-track offer and I've seen what you're offering here at MEPD and at FISD. However, I've already made an arrangement to get it from a good friend of mine, perhaps you may know him as SaberFreak from The RPF with his familiar avatar : and his familiar tag line
  15. I will appreciate some helpful information so that I can make my scratch build DLT-19 done according to this popular DLT-19 / MG-34 Tutorial to be as realistic as possible. What is the LENGHT (in terms of inches) and QUANTITIES of T-tracks that I need to procure? This info is not provided in the Tutorial, which only talks about drilling holes onto the PVC pipes to make the barrel. I certainly need to enhance the appearance of the barrel of my DLT-19. For everybody's info it is absolutely ILLEGAL to bring in accurate fan made DLT-19 replicas into Malaysia due to our stringent gun laws. This prohibits even the import of non firing correct scaled weapon replicas of any kind. Hence the only way for me to acquire my BFG is to scratch build it and make it resemble to the movie prop as close as possible. Thank you.
  16. Thanks for the useful information and pictures that have been posted here. I was just wondering how you guys attached your MP-40 Shoulder Pouch till I came across this thread. May I ask whether attaching industrial velcro on the back of the MP-40 Pouch to your Chest Armor is a good attachment option, or otherwise?
  17. Nice weathering job Gundamzeppelin. Just look at those caked dust and dirt on the surface. To achieve this look I must leave my Orange Pauldron in the attic for months and months for the dust to build up on it!
  18. The bucket (even though following ROTJ design) just does NOT create a good first impression as its higher price point $850.
  19. What a fine piece of weathered WICKED piece!!
  20. Thank you nico. I'm doing all the research I can with the vast information that is available in the MEPD forums to get my Sandtrooper gear done right esp. the Backpack, BFG and weathering. Compared to my Snowtrooper Commander project when I first started out in 2006, the then information at the Blizzard Force forums was much scarer compared to today.
  21. So we can consider this purely as a Custom Pauldron, and not recognised in the 501st Legion?
  22. Well, keep on writing and I'm sure Mrs. TK-409 will attend to you. I've purchased 2, one for myself and another for TK-8598 and we're both immensely satisfied with our TK-409 neck seals.
