  1. I sent the pics to my Garrison's GML, I figured it has come up before on the 501st GML forum so she probably knows the answer.
  2. Cool, I actually read the Lewis manual & that makes a lot of sense.
  3. Looks good to me, is that one of the Altmann suits?
  4. Oh, so it'll be an enabling group then. Oh wait, those are the forums!
  5. I agree with the time consumption angle, I am building up four packs right now & it takes a while. I have been dumping most of my spare time into them for the past 6 weeks & they are just now getting finished.
  6. Smart ***. Do you know if the big part was filled with water? Or was it just airspace?
  7. Those photos pre-date the addition of the "no drop boxes" requirement. We actually have plans in place that would allow for the specific deployment of Special Edition troopers but no one has done one yet. The IMA pouches are great, you could use that on your shoulder & put the leather one on your belt and be authentic to some of the movie troopers.
  8. Hey Chris, nice to see you here! Troopermaster/Paul does offer the grater handbacks, but if you are making molds I'm sure we'd all love to see what you come up with!
  9. The actual barrel of the gun was .30, fwiw.
  10. Ha, you guys look great! The handplates look better on you, I think you can get away with them although they seem a little elongated but not so much that is stands out. Overall everything looks good, you've done some nice work!
  11. The chin strap seems more trouble than its worth, but I'm interested to see if it makes any difference in the wear. Has anyone here done it? I'd like to hear some feedback.
  12. I've never used one but I think I might try it on my next helmet.
  13. Wow, looking good! I would say that after the additions you should be good to go. The handplates look a little long though, as if they would come to the middle of your finger. I'd trim them about 2 cm or so at the "front" of the plate.
  14. I'd probably put the "done stamp" on it. You could fiddle with tiny things here and there but overall the weathering looks good.
  15. Good work Jens! You're good to go.
  16. When you blot, press down and twist your hand about 1/4 turn. The sanding streaks will still hold onto some of it but the twisting will be more abrasive than just the dabbing by itself. Overall I think you have done a really good job.
  17. Even closer! Go back with a barely damp paper towel and just blot a whole bunch. It will get rid of the streaks left from the wiping motion & maybe leave a few small clean areas.
  18. I'd tone it down just a little. Not so much the coverage, but the amount where there is coverage. You are real close though.
  19. Yeah man, I saw your Pre-pro and it was pretty sick. I think the only kids that are sharp enough to pick up on the details are ours. I just wish that people would stop asking me why the other ones are clean and I am all dirty. Don't sweat your man-rag, we're all friends here.
  20. The pursuit of accuracy is by no measure sad, if you think that you are reading the wrong forum. Not trying to be a **** but its a fact, if a bottom line entry level model is good enough than there is no real reason to read a lengthy dissertation on an accurate replica, right? Making it accurate is fun, I know not everyone feels that way but again if that is the case skip the accuracy-nut discussion. I love refining things until they are a proper film replica and I love trooping. One doesn't negate the need for the other and I think that is a great attitude to have. Yeah, forget the kids. No really, it my costume; get bent. No one buys armor because they want to make kids smile or help charity, that is a load. We all bought armor for selfish reasons. I love Star Wars, I want Stormtrooper armor, the end. With that said, I love to share my costume with fans of all ages and it is truly rewarding to use it in service to charities and to delight kids. However, I make it the way I want it because it is mine. "Kids" and "the fans" confuse TIE Pilots with Darth Vader, if that is all we need to cater to than we might as well abandon costume discussion forums because all we will need to do is wear a cardboard outfit.
