Rolf
Hi gang . I just dye my new MP38/40 canvas pouch. Many use a shoe dye, buy it colour the body armor, when you troop. Some use spray paint, but it do not hold the the right shape of the pouch. I add some card board/thick paper inside the pouch. Then i just brush hand paint the pouch, whit black gloss #21 humbrol. Let it dry for about 24 hours, then take out the card boad. And the canvas pouch is all dry up, and have the right cool shape. To make it look old and used, i just add some very light sand paper touch here and there. Here you go: Before and after...

tk2230
Rolf, are you cutting the buckle sticking off the side of the pouch or was that part in the movie?
Rolf
Rolf, are you cutting the buckle sticking off the side of the pouch or was that part in the movie? Last time i cut them off, cut two cuts like that direct in the canvas back pouch: l l And add a black velcro strap through it, then i add velcro in the chest and shoulder, and the pouch stay there solid. This time i just add some black velcro around the / / straps, and add a black velcro string/strap to there, and the same way to the chest and shoulder. I don´t think they are cut off in ANH, but snap add on the back pack straps in the shoulder area. Cheers
tk2230
I was referring to the part in the red circle:
