A friend of mine gave me his 2nd set of Anovos armor that he got about 2 years ago. With it I was originally either going to make a TK or mod it for the SE or BFII Heavy armor. Then my wife expressed interest it in and in joining the Desert Foxes. So that armor is now hers! I will be helping her build it and mod it so she isn't swimming in it. Other troopers "a little short for a sandtrooper" please chime in on your mods, she is just about 5'5" and has a slim build. Here she is being all short and stuff at the 501st bash.

So, when I saw the Big Game teaser in the early hours of Monday night (in the UK) I immediately noticed something we the troopers appeared in the transit centre shot right at the beginning. If you look closely - at 00:07 - you can see what looks like a back pack on one of the troopers. The profile is very rounded rectangular shape. Is it possible that the we will get to see a Crystal Patrol Pack in SOLO? Or a variant of it? If SOLO is approx. 10 years before R1 / ANH then the Death Star programme is well underway. In the R1 Catalyst novel we know that Galen Erso was working on Kyber Crystals and energy generation / transfer during the latter part of the Clone War. The scene from the SOLO teaser appears to be in some transit centre / station and close examination of the footage shows that the troopers are searching people. Searching for Kyber Crystals? This also links to why we see the Crystal Patrol Pack being worn by a trooper on The Ring of Kafrene station in R1 - a transit hub where smuggled Kyber Crystals have a good chance of being discovered. All just hypothesis, but the profile looks about correct for Crystal Patrol Pack (or a variant of it) and the context of the setting appears sensible. Of course we may never know as likely that scene will always be in the background, if it even makes it into the final cut of the movie! But food for thought. Cant beat a Woodman radio. Only maker with a direct cast from the real radio.

Woodman is a prop maker here, he is also on The dented helmet . I believe he has just reduced the price. There are a few out there that sell all the parts needed.

I'm trying to put together a list (for the future) on makers of some of these accessories and kits. Where did you get the woodman ? Are there any other makers for building packs I should be aware of?

Depends on the build. I think a combo of paint and fullers/grout looks best. The paint is good for doing the weathering details, specific patterns or shapes you are trying to recreate. The fullers and grout if good for just all over weathering and for giving everything a dusted look.

I'm really liking this alternative version. It will be handy when trooping with rebel legion members and give a nice touch to the overall experience.
