Wilowchehuckt
Hey all. New to MEPD here. I'm planning to skip right ahead to Sandtrooper for my first complete armor set. I was told by another 501st member switching to Sandy that there was someone selling sniper and ab plates to get the Sandy look... aka having spares. If anyone could give me info on where to get those key pieces, I'd definitely appreciate it. And for the question about ANH kit - seen below - should I be concerned about shoulder straps? (As Sandy needs flat, not ribbed.) [/img]
TD1009
If you got that kit (AP) you'd be good to go for the AB plate, as is it's a Sandtrooper ab plate. Shoulder straps, I'm not sure what the latest thinking is but I use white elastic. It's hard to see evidence of any actual shoulder straps beyond the joining of the chest and back armor on the Sandtroopers. Generally it's considered to be just minus or before the ribbed straps. Welcome to the MEPD!
SethB6025
Copy that, just disregard your plastic shoulder straps. Some sort of strapping underneath the armor (should be white or canvas color) is probably the most accurate approach. If you get that kit (looks like AP?) you will only need a knee replacement, the ab is good. You just don't use the ridged overlay plate that covers the rectangle on the "belly". Wilowchehuckt
Sweet, many thanks. Any ideas where to fetch knee pieces?
SethB6025
Search the board for "sniper knee" you'll find some good resources. A few people vac-form them, and you can also build one from some readily available templates that will come up in the search.
