Hi everyone.

I wanted to start this thread, because I KNOW that a lot of people are reading the Sandtrooper's Story, just by checking the number of hits after I post up a new bit of the story.

I really would like to hear what you think.

Well, I'm one of those TD's that goes off on desert missions for months at a time before reporting back for duty. In other words, freaking life gets in the way. Alas, I try to log in as much as possible and make contributions. One of these days I'm going to sit down, turn off all the lights, shut my cell phone off and send everyone to the movies or out of state and read your story....

...or I can try to read a chapter at a time and post comments. I really do like the cool illustrations that you add. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to catching up! I know what it's like to have a hundred lurkers but only the occasional reply with feedback. I'll try to do better.

Reading a Chapter or a post at a time is great, and I invite you to post up here as you read . . . with comments, both positive or negative. If you have observations or ideas, I welcome them.

I like the idea of being deployed for some time before reporting in. I may use that idea. Thanks!

Your writin faster that I can read brother. Im on about page 6 and its gettin better the farther in I get. I can see your writing mature through the story and its comin along great!! I want to enjoy it but at the same time between the new DEATH STAR book comin out then TRUE COLORS the new RC book is comin at the end of the month. So much great readin so little time.

OK Here they are. Bear in mind that these may or may not be in chronological story order:

1 - Lars homestead - I think from the EU (which I have read VERY LITTLE of) Camie and Fixer marry and move into the old Lars place.

2 - Ben Kenobi – We discover a bit about Obi-Wan - the reasons old Ben was here. In Ben’s home, we find the blades on the wall for skinning and working leather, as well as Qui-gon’s cloak/poncho on a chair. Obi Wan gave water to the Tuskens in exchange for security.

3 - Old woman of Anchorhead (from deleted scenes)– acquaintance or friend of Shmi???

4 - Boba Fett - After receiving his first reward from the Empire, Fett still had to transport Solo to Jabba. As told in the comic-book version of Shadows of the Empire, however, in his way were other bounty hunters attempting to claim Solo as their own, most notably Bossk and IG-88. But Fett's reputation as the best there is at what he does was not to be hampered, and he delivered Solo to Jabba successfully, after a side trip to Gall to repair the SLAVE I.

5 - Lando and Chewie to Corellia? - Perhaps just prior to catching up to Fett as the Battle of Gall takes place. Fett is repairing Slave I and preparing to deliver Solo to Jabba – Fights IG-88 and Bossk. We are with Jabba when Fett’s holo comes through alerting Jabba of the delay because of the attack at Gall. He arrives, Lando and Chewie go to Solo’s cache for supplies, we follow and place the transponder. We make note of the Falcon out in the rocky areas of the wastes near the palace…and the fact that Captain Solo is not piloting, Lando is…with Chewie. We place a tracking transponder on it – we gather data on its whereabouts, feeding information to us and through us, to Vader - allowing for the revelation of “the rebels are massing near Sullust” - AFTER TESB TIMEFRAME

6 - Monitor Lando and Chewie - Once we catch up to the timeframe of the end of TESB, we will monitor suspected rebel activity as Lando and Chewie return to Mos Eisely, gather needed supplies from Solo's cache, and mount the infiltration of Jabba's Palace. Why stop them? Let them rid us of Jabba!

7 - Luke flees Yavin IV to Tatooine as the 501st invades the base on Yavin IV. He returns to Ben’s home using standardized coordinates from Leia (Southwestern edge of the Dune Sea at Alph-1733-Mu-9033 in the first quadrant). He finds holocron filled with information including regarding saber building instructions (also discovers tools to do this) although it is of little interest to him now, he has a lightsaber, but it will become more important after he loses his. The hut consists of a single large room subdivided into living area, raised kitchen and bathroom. A trapdoor leads to a cellar containing water storage and power generator utilities. Luke makes the hut his temporary home. Somehow, information regarding Syfo Dias is given to Luke, but explained later? Luke discovers very old Jedi near death, living in Ben Kenobi’s first cave-home after being directed there by Kenobi and items found in Ben’s home. The original script for ANH refers to Obi-Wan’s home as “Ben Kenobi’s cave”. Design work sketched out Obi-Wan’s home as an expansive, three-story dwelling carved out of the native rock. Kenobi had cared for the old Jedi. He had sensed both Kenobi’s death and Luke’s arrival. Kenobi’s Jedi Starfighter is still stored far back in the cave.

He was a well-trained Jedi, raised in the temple since infancy, and an instructor of saber construction and classic fighting techniques. He was a student of history, spending much time in the archives studying the evolution of society. He had privately hypothesized that Palpatine would seize power, possibly being manipulated by a Aith Lord, but never guessed he was in fact a Sith himself. He was returning to Coruscant when Order 66 was handed down.

He received the altered signal from Obi-Wan and Yoda, warning him to stay away. Rather than change course and raise suspicion, he landed and fought his way out of the spaceport into the surface streets of the city. He was wandering the streets near the Senate chambers to keep abreast of what was happening when he found a badly wounded and dying Mace Windu. Windu tells him of small statues in his quarters that are actually hollowed out with mini holocrons inside the bases (The ones seen in Kenobi’s home on the table where Leia’s message is delivered).

He asks if Yoda survives and is told that he and Obi Wan are known to have survived, but that all others were feared dead. Windu asks him to get the statues to Obi Wan. He cares for the dying master until his death. He hides in a Coruscant processing facility of fuel/waste/toxins. Troopers drive him to fall into the liquid – he uses the force to keep a bubble around himself, protecting himself until he can escape with the troopers believing him dead. He helps Luke with the saber skills and explains some things to him

8 - VADER LINE – “I want probes searching every corner of this galaxy and thousands more lost as they pass beyond into unexplored space!”

9 - Write in BLADE’s Dark Shadow Stalker somehow.

10 - TURF WARS between the Hutt cartels, impacting the price of market goods, food, water, etc. Hutt-Darklighter connection?

11 - Roadside IED-like explosions set by Tuskens as traps for us – damage and injuries…4120 loses another hand maybe?

12 - HOLDER’s rehabilitation back to health

13 - Deckard returns to Kenobi’s home with Nadon, followed by Felth?

14 - Fort Tusken and more interaction with the Tusken Raiders? Tuskens intimidating local farmers, destroying property, kidnapping children, butchering livestock.

15 - Han to speak to Bria Tharen’s father

16 - Troops (friends of ours) on other planets dealing with Rebel uprisings?

17 - FELTH IS DISCOVERED - Felth forwards information to the Rebels about DSII – near the beginning of installment III…we take him down as he tries to escape in our shuttle – (pic of crashed shuttle in desert) Tie ships called in from a SD shoot down Davin Felth (TK1023) as he tries to escape . TIEs pursue him through canyons (pic) and shoot down his shuttle…we found him to be a rebel spy. They shoot him down as he nears a group of rebels waiting with X-wings to evacuate him. GT TIE Pilots will be the pilots.

He crawls from the wrecked shuttle and we recover him as the TIEs destroy the awaiting X-wings. He is then taken out to the desert and chained down in time for the Teeth of Tatooine to do their work. - but that probably won't happen until the beginning of Installment III, when we re-join the ROTJ timeline -

18 - Luke returns to Tatooine IMMEDIATELY following his recovery and the end of TESB storyline – has a partial vision/dream of Kenobi – told to return to his desert home to build a new lightsaber. Ben left clues for Luke to lead him to the B’Omarr wreckage, coupled with the datacard from Dodonna to guide him to the training area. Luke has been on Tatooine for some time, going through Kenobi’s hut. He finds the poncho that had been QuiGon’s, other personal effects of Ben’s, Mace’s and QuiGon’s, along with some Jedi archive information, etc to help him in the re-building of the Jedi Order following the overthrow of the Emperor. Ben put a lot of thought into what he brought with him to Tatooine and what he collected over the years. – Explain the meaning of the figurines on his table (Leia hologram scene). Perhaps a good place to explain Sifo Dyas and his involvement surrounding the Clone Army, Sideous, Dooku and Qui-Gon Jinn.

The book “Labyrinth of Evil” shows that Sifo Dyas was another fallen Jedi type that was being played by Sidious. He ordered the clone army, Dooku erased the Jedi Archive record of Kamino, then killed Sifo Dyas so no one would find out about the plan for the Clone Army.

It seems that Qui-Gon, Dooku and Sifo Dyas were all good friends, and all held similar beliefs in the failing of the Republic, each defying the council in small ways when they saw it was necessary. Qui-Gon believed that the Jedi were losing touch with the Force, and regularly ignored the council when the Force led him another way. Dooku was obsessed with antiques and Sith artifacts and Sifo Dyas believed that the Republic could be reformed and was worth saving. After the Trace Federation blockaded Naboo, and Qui-Gon first confronted Darth Maul, Syfo Dias sensed the Dark side’s power growing, and a great conflict coming. While Qui-Gon was escorting Queen Amidala to Naboo, Dooku and Sifo Dyas created a plan. They pieced together that a Sith Lord was manipulating the Trade Federation into starting a war. Syfo Dias would secretly begin to create an army that would be totally loyal to the Republic to fight off this threat, and Dooku, with his immense knowledge of Sith artifacts and history, would hunt down the Sith Lord. So, Sifo Dyas ordered the Clone Army from the Kaminoans, arranging a payment through the Jedi Council (Without their knowledge), and told them to start setting up, that a Template would be provided later.

Then comes the betrayal.

Supposedly, the death of Qui-Gon is what essentially sent Dooku off the deep end. Afterwards, Dooku either found Sidious, or Sidious found him. Either way, Dooku became the new apprentice and spilled his guts about their plan. The first act Dooku committed as a Sith was to return to the temple, erase Kamino from the archives and murder Sifo Dyas, erasing all evidence of the Clone Army. The murder of Sifo Dyas (supposedly caused by a heated argument between the two about Qui-Gon and the Republic) is what caused Dooku to be expelled from the Jedi Order. Dooku finds Jango Fett and delivers him to Kamino with a single modification to the Clone Programming, the inclusion of Order 66. It is worth mentioning that initial prototype clones, the ARC Troopers, do not follow Order 66 because they do not have any “Docile” training in them to make them follow orders.

Lucas has denied that clones received Order 66 as imbedded training. It's pretty crappy IMHO that this big piece of the puzzle was left to the EU, which people may or may not read, but there you have it.

19 - Battle of Gall – Leia Organa hired Dash Rendar to scout out the Smuggler’s Canyon in search of Fett and Solo (in carbonite). The battle occurs after the battle of Hoth, after Han frozen and taken by Fett. IG-88 tries to steal Fett’s prize. Fett fights and hyperjumps away to Gall for repairs. Fett had been granted access to the ship docks of the Imperial Enclave to repair his ship after the dogfight with IG-88 over Tatooine. He made his way to Fett’s hangar bay where he nearly killed Fett and damaged Slave I, requiring Fett to stay on the moon longer. The alliance fleet moved into the system and Rendar led the ‘falcon to Fett, where he abandoned his allies. Assassin droid in Wes Janson’s starfighter tries to kill Luke.

20 - Lando as Jabba’s Guard - How does he get placed as a guard with Jabba? What’s the story behind that?

21 - We keep Ben’s house under surveillance - Skywalker returns to rummage through Ben's hut for lightsaber plans . Ben wanted to keep a low profile – evidence of a simple, dedicated life. We may also discover evidence of a recent lightsaber build as we follow a lead to Ben Kenobi's hut.

22 - Sail Barge – "Terrorist Bombing" – We investigate the bombing of Jabbas sail barge AND Jabba’s suspicious death - sifting through the wreckage of the explosion - terrorists, trying to strike fear into the Hutt community. We analyze remains found, determine that the explosion was caused by a “weapons malfunction” from the deck mounted swivel gun. We allow Jabba to die to sever Tatooine ties with Kessel and rid us of the thorn on our side.

We witness Boba Fett flying out of the Sarlacc pitt. While investigating the crime scene, we bear witness to Fett, jetting out of the Sarlacc Pitt and returning to his ship at the Palace, aided by Dengar who is busy scavenging for valuables in the wreckage. We question them. We discover info about new Jedi Skywalker. Fett set off explosives inside the Sarlacc, killing much of it. The rest was later vaporized by Fett and Dengar Roth.

In the comic Dark Empire, Boba Fett tells Han Solo that "the Sarlacc found me somewhat indigestable." In "A Barve Like That," a story within Tales from Jabba's Palace, it explains how Boba Fett destroys the Sarlacc. Jawas were combing the area and found Boba Fett among the wreckage of Jabba's Sail Barge. They attempt to “salvage” his jet pack and wrist rockets, etc, but he is rescued by fellow bounty hunter Dengar. (DARK HORSE COMICS and BANTAM PUBLISHING, officially licensed by Lucasfilm) ~ Boba Fett had blown up the Sarlaac and escaped, and Dengar found Boba half dead while looking for valuables from Jabba's sail barge. The two then formed a partnership. This was in The Mandalorian Armor, book one of The Bounty Hunter Wars by K.W. Jeter.

23 - Sandstorm - We see the infamous missing sandstorm that follows the destruction of the barge and before the heroes lift off – created with the Force by Luke, following Obi-Wan’s instruction – as a diversion for escape from us as we pursue them. Obi-Wan leaves clues for Luke about how to create a blinding sandstorm (For Installment III escape from Tatooine after Jabba’s barge explosion) using the Force to manipulate the weather “The Force can have a strong influence . . . even between the land and the ship”.

Why are we nearby or following the Hutt?

24 - Back to Jabba’s Palace? - Afterward as we investigate the palace, we discover Luke’s cloak in the Rancor cave. Luke has been on Tatooine for some time, setting up the rescue efforts.

25 - Boba Fett sought out by a Kaminoan cloner or other seeking to make more clones as he is the only unaltered clone of Jango Fett? - TESB TIMEFRAME – Fett however has been terribly damaged by the

Sarlacc and his DNA polluted by the chemicals of the Sarlacc poison?

26 - TATOOINE LEGEND: Tatooine’s silicate surface reflects the light of its suns so intensely that legends tell of explorers first mistaking the planet for a third, smaller sun. Also in the system is a pair of uninhabited gas giants, Adriana and Ohann.

im in a bit of a hurry, but you wanted comments so ill give you one:

Might seem a tad strange that the tuskens in ANH flee when they see obi coming, if he has only traded water for their protection? Might want to come up with something else here, perhaps he ends up showing them his lightsaber or some jedi tricks, and they are reminded of what anakin did so they leave him alone/treat him with respect? just a thought!

I always thought that in ANH, the Tuskens flee actually before they even see Old Ben, just in response to the cry of the Krayt Dragon.

But I see your point. I will definitely keep it in mind when fleshing that part out.
