iconoclasta_88
Hey Lee, no worries bro. Original ANH armor was made of different materials. The body armor was made of white ABS plastic, while the helmet was made of green HDPE plastic. This means shinny flexible body armor, but the need for helmets to be painted white. So, the helmets were indeed painted white. We asume it was spray painted because of the finished look and the amount of work it would take to paint them by hand. There were 60 full armors done for ANH. Except for the few Hero or close up helmets, all the stunt or background helmets were indeed painted white. HDPE is a very difficult plastic to paint. So that is why many of the lids had cracked paint. Some replicas made by members here and other forums, using white plastic kits, paint them green and then paint them white. The other available solution (that is actually the real way to do it), is to get an HDPE kit and then painted white. AFAIK the only kit readily available in HDPE at the moment is the RS armor. Hope that helps. Saludos.
