Fellow 501st members and my MEPD brothers of the sand, On the 2nd of November 2013, it is my intent to walk 15000 Km’s solo around Australia for charity covering every State and Territory wearing Star Wars Sandtrooper armour in order to raise money and awareness for the Monash Children’s Hospital and help raise the profile of the 501st Legion. I will be departing from the Monash Children’s hospital, Melbourne where I will make my way to Station pier-Port Melbourne on foot. I will board the Spirit of Tasmania and head to Devonport after which I will begin my journey around Australia first walking to Launceston then on to Hobart after which I will return to Devonport where I will again board the Spirit of Tasmania and return to Melbourne to continue the journey heading west and right around the country finishing where I started in Melbourne. Total Kilometres = 15000. Estimated time to complete 12 to 18 months. This will be the FIRST time any one has circumnavigated Australia on foot, continuously in one direction, in costume!!! To get where we are now, to be in the position to present this undertaking to you and the world at large’ it has taken Myself, Philsy (Phillip Blackman- Knightfall squad/TAG member and Media/PR officer at the Monash Children’s Hospital) Mark Marcus – Knightfall Squad Leader and TAG CO Amro Tawfik months of planning. This event will be publicised intensely via all forms of media – Australian print, radio, TV and digital/social and will really put TAG and the 501st in the news. My request to my fellow MEPD brothers is to visit and share the facebook links below and spread the word amongst your own social and professional networks. Lets show them what battle hardened Sandtroopers can do. Of course feel free to donate to the cause via the Everyday hero page. A lot of hard work has gone into this, the hardest part is yet to come; I’m sure you will all join me to celebrate this event and follow me on my journey. https://www.facebook.com/StormingAustralia?ref=stream https://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fgive.everydayhero.com%2Fau%2Fscott_MCH&h=KAQGbKmol&s=1 Cheers Scott Loxley MEPD police officer.
