  1. Well i have to buy some buttons to attach to the elastic straps, and because of the virus everything is closed, so, when things get back to normal i will be able to buy them. And yes@troopermaster , with the pieces hold together with tape there's no way to really tell if it does look 100% right, what you all saw is just a "sneak peak" of what potentially can be, but today i will start to glue things with E6000 Stay tuned folks! 2. the pieces of the torso fit me well, my major concern is the pieces of the limbs, i dont want them to look too thick or too slim in relationship with the torso pieces, if you say that they look good, the whole armor, well proportionated, i will believe it Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  3. Hello@Hausi ! thanks for your reply it always help to have some insight from mor experienced builders. Is hard to place the pieces correctly without any helper that know a bit how is supposed to look the armor, also, blue painter's tape is not the best way. I think the shoulder bell look like thay because is loose there is nothing that holds it in place, but i will try the armor again after i put the straps and will see if more trimming is needed, as you suggested I can definitely lower the thighs, pull up the ab plate is gonna be hard since the lower part is right there in my groin, the but plate is, also, right there in my.. you know, Is the kindey plate too close to the butt plate?, I thought it was supposed to be like that, in fact i think is to separated from the back plate, isn't? 4. Hi guys, everything is being hold by blue painter's tape So, What do you think?, Does is look good? I'm aiming to level 3,so.. is quite important that all the pieces look right now before gluing and even more after gluing everything. Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  5. I notice that the strip dies not cover the whole width of the flat area, i can do it Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  6. Jmm i did the sizing in the edges the top with the flat raised ridge is easy, now, the one on the other side is the tricky one (the one in the pic) i thought that flat space was supposed to be there but i had my suspicious that maybe i was wrong, and i was! My measures right now for the forearm Forearm outer: Top 180mm - bottom 140mm Forearm inner: Top 175mm - bottom 140mm No wonder why it looks too thick This below is the same pic with a 15mm cover strip as a reference for size, in the place where i was planning to glue it, i guess now plans have changed, so, i just have to remove the flat area and proceed gluing the cover strip Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  7. Many thanks@troopermaster Those will certainly help. By the way, do you cut this little flat section of the inner forearm? Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  8. Im working on the thighs right now, And yes, I'm having trouble sizing on the back, and i think the same is gonna be with the shins Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  9. i think my body allow the original sizes, but i have no idea what those sizes are, im kind of guiding myself by the pictures of tour build, that ona you send to germany i want my armor to look well proportionated each piece with the rest
  10. jejeje yeah is very useful have a mannequin with your body shape, or close to. now, with the bells that you suggest (trim off the edge just before it starts to flare out) is exactly what i did, im finishing now (or sort of finishing) the forearm piece and arm to show you how does it look in relation to the torso
  11. Sorry for the delay@troopermaster i promised some pics and here they are, the mannequin gave me more trouble than expected, and still is not 100% done. This is what i have so far, now I'm working on the shoulder bells, I'm figuring out how much to cut under and from the sides Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  12. Alright@troopermaster I'm building a mannequin, with my shape to use for measuring the pieces, in a few days it will be ready Stand by for pics Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  13. I can definitely slide my arm there, but i dont want to be too big neither Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  14. Alright... I did the measurement and the strips are 15mm, this is how it looks (is being hold together by magnets). By the way, i saw the photos of the full stormtrooper armor in your fb page, it looks great, I'm looking forward to see mor pictures. Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  15. Hey guys, how do you align these?, How do you know how much do you have to cut from the sides? Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  16. Coming back to this@troopermaster , why would someone use 17mm in the arms instead of 15?, What makes the difference? Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  17. I understand now, alright, let me see how much can i do that Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  18. Yes, a tiny bit, but, if we can not see that trooper eyes (the one in the screenshot), how to know if i have to? Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  19. Agreed, but, they are already trim out Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  20. Well i was checking this guy, when the falcon takes off, he is all the time looking away, all we can see is his backs pack and some parts of the back of the armor Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  21. Jmmm good suggestion, I'm supposed to emulate a trooper from the film in level 3... It's hard, because the eyes are already too clean, so... Long story short, i was going for TK, but i had a long chat with a friend and he nicely talk me out that, and now i back to the original plan, TD. So, i have to scan all TD scenes and pick a trooper. What if i pick a trooper that is not featured in all his splendor? The opposite to the "move along" trooper, if i do this can i get away with my too clean eyes? This is a question for everyone , not just troopermaster Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  22. Thanks for your opinion, it means a lot to have the point of view of the more experienced, since I'm going for level 3, is important to me avoid as much mistakes as possible Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  23. Well i say that because i have read here many saying that the helmet is one of the most difficult parts of the entire build. In fact i almost damage the whole thing, i cutted a chunk from sides of the sides and top of faceplate and later notice that it will be a nightmare align the helmet properly, which it was, if not for Paul's help, i don't know how that helmet would have looked, or, if i would have ever been able to put it together at all. Now i know that, at least, TM helmets dont need trimming on the faceplate, except down in the neck rim after verifying with the s-trim. Take a look to this photos of my helmet from almost all angles, tell me what do you think? Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  24. Lol, Is a quote from 2006, That is exactly why i wanted to ask you that again, maybe, in that time you thought it was correct, but as more things we learn about the production of the movies, specifically about the tk/td armors, we change some things about the way we make the builds. In regards to the colours, #221 is for both? TK and TD? Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
  25. I think is great the add of cutting lines as a guide. Building the helmet took me like 4 days, and is not painted yet, it was super difficult for me as a newbie. I know, i shouldn't start for the helmet but... Rookie mistake. Pictures coming soon Sent from my GM1900 using Tapatalk
