  1. The reason that happened is because between shots, the actors playing the sandtroopers will take off parts of the armor and pile them on a corner until is time to shoot again during the undressing and dressing process some actors will switch pieces without noticing the mistake or worrying about it.

There are many of those cases during the few minutes we see the sandies on screen

  2. Today, a little work on the kidney. Yesterday glued, today filled, sanded and painted. But only in the grinding area. Found a color that exactly matches the ABS.

  3. They are not broken, but they are old. I am not computer savvy and don't know how to retrieve them.

15mm is a good size for the tube stripes, though some may be shorter or longer by 1mm or 2mm. They didn't use a stencil for the stripes but it's obvious they used tape to mask the edges, so that's where there will be a slight difference in stripe width from helmet to helmet. The amount of curve on the stripes vary too.

Some people specialize in retrieve files from drives, im just saying, there is hope.

I noticed that, yes, the curve and thickness of the stripes vary even in the same line of stripes.

The thickness seems to be something around 3mm, but as you said, that, for sure varies among the helmets.

  4. Here's another. Like I said, any others are on my old hard drive that I cannot access. In fact, I have 2 that date back 20 years - both have some rare photos of helmets and armour.

Again, first time i see that one.

And the drives, are they broken?

By the way Paul, ¿are the tube stripes around 15mm tall? I read that in some thread that i cant find now

RoCKo was so kind to provide the following reference pics of the helmet (note: cleaned and obviously taken after filming)

always followed by a pic of my helmet arranged in the same way:

is somewhere in the net or someone hard drive more photos of that screen used helmet?, specifically the tube stripes

  6. Thanks. Agreed, I tried to add the chipping in places of likely contact or if it was scraped on a surface.  It I see what you mean . It’s a bit too random.

I based the weathering off of these photos.
But now in hindsight this is probably the prop after many years of degrading paint.

I think the thing that makes yours looks odd, is the inconsistency between the chipping in the corner and borders and the lower surfaces less prone to be scratched, it looks too clean in the parts less likely to be scratched with normal use

  7. All of our gear is wonky as **** and it's good!
I think you can sand down the top and bottom edge just a tiny bit more until you're almost where the block begins.
For the left and right side, have a look at screencaps:

They weren't all the same, so don't worry too much about measurements.
Thanks! I'll sand down a bit the top an down and i will get back here with the results

  8. Hi guys i hope you all are ok

I come here to create a thread about how much to cut the plastic part of the belt, on the top, sides and below

Does anyone has a reference in mm? From the last block on each side how much do the belt should extend?

And on too/below, how close the do the edge should be to the blocks?

The photo is my belt as it is right now

Btw did you know the the blocks aren't perfectly aligned?IMG_20201009_175637__01.jpg

  9. Personally I wouldn't go any smaller but I know that some people completely disassemble their armor and put it in a small suitcase, carrying the helmet in a separate bag.
Mine is put together with magnets in the torso, so i could easily disassemble it, but i definitely don't want to carry the helmet outside the box.
