:oops::oops::oops: I've noticed that on some deployment photos, you guys have a pouch on both sides of your belt, but others just have one pouch on one side - which is correct, or can it be either?
-
Steve has re-weathered the barrel to make it a bit darker with less silver showing, more like the movie gun.
-
That would be Mr Seth

Latest progress pics:
This is a chopped up weedkiller spray bottle that is being used as the exhaust port box:
It's been made narrower and will be filled and smoothed before priming and spraying:

Not sure if this will interest anyone scratch-building a T21?
-
That's a sweet looking and ACCURATE T21 dude

Excellent weathering *jealous* I've printed you out for an example of what I hope to achieve - along with Mike 1536's weathering which rocks

I rang loads of people up and left daft messages on answerphones when I first got mine
Did you all know that you can get a better speaker for them, which is apparently much louder and clearer than the one supplied? Look on eBay for Nokia Speaker HFS 12.
I've got mine but not fitted yet, but other Troopers in the UKG are saying it's awesome.

In the movies, all the black pauldrons looked smaller than the orange ones, either that or the TDs were just broad shouldered guys! I definitely don't want a large pauldron I think I'd get blown away if a gust of wind hit me (despite the huge gun and backpack) If anyone has any measurements they can post to compare Seth's with eBay ones that'd be handy.
As for the pouches - d'oh! I guess they must be the same size if they hold the same ammo but the canvas ones won't be as stiff or rigid as the leather ones will they? So may sit nicer on my shoulder.....
-
So are these smaller than the commercially produced ones like on eBay then?
Just to be a bit anal but I was after a black one, and I noticed in the films they don't have the seams down the middle of the main pauldron area, like the white ones do - do your black ones not have the seams either?
As for the pouches, erm well the leather ones seem to be a bit huge and I'm v. cautious of not looking "drowned" with all my kit on, as I'm about 5'10" in armour....hence me asking about the small pauldrons...I was going to go for canvas pouches all round, or is this not correct?
-
Hehehe the auction text says "This new set include the necessary pigments to make fresh mud."
One has to think "why not go into the garden and just dig some up???
-
Noob question Do pauldrons come in different sizes? I've seen some pics of really tiny Troopers whose pauldrons totally drown them and most of their upper arm. I'm not tiny but I'm slight, so was wondering if I could get a slightly smaller pauldron from anywhere....?
Also, I used to have a link where you could get the beige canvas pouches from, but I've lost it - can anyone help? I'd prefer canvas pouches over leather.....
-
Hey that's nicely done, nice coverage and very realistic
-
All finished!!!
It's in a satin black but the camera flash makes it look glossy. Will be a shame to weather it......
Sweeeet as Thanks Steve!!!!

Latest pic - added Milliput:

I especially like the pile of BFGs in the background. I can just imagine a burglar's reaction to that arsenal.
Oh I live for the day a burglar appears in my house and is confronted by me with my 54" T-21...."Do ya feel lucky? Punk? WELL DO YA?????"
-
Very well spotted I thought about a D ring on the nozzle but I thought that it'd just come loose all the time. How about a double D ring, like you would have a belt fastening, then it would grip the strap better....but then it depends on the thickness of the strap.....
-
No way, someone here must have done it before? But if not, then COOL!!
Here is a pic of it fully trimmed and glued - just needs a bit of milliput now then it's spray time.....
-
i even went as far as using a fan on full blast and throwing powdered pigment into it so that it chucked it forcefully at the armour like a sand storm.
Wish I'd been there to witness that, hahahaha!!!
-
Does this stuff exist, or do you add something to it to make it darker? The only stuff I can find is the sandy/creamy colour, which isn't the colour I want....there will be plenty of sandy creamy weathering on my armour already, I wanted a few patches of much darker colour here and there too....

It was Destiny Steve's toilet decided to break (perfect timing) and flood everywhere, so an emergency plumber was called over 2 nights and at a total cost of £400, repairs were done, and the old cistern was saved for my pack.....so it's officially THE most expensive TD backpack ever
-
List of ingredients
Cup lid setup (recycle those poster tube ends :
Butchered cistern:
Burger stacker and lid...lid is attached by a screw:
A bit more fine tuning then ready to glue:
More pics later this week {SMILIES_PATH}/duim.gif

Talk about convenient coincidence!!! Steve's had the plumber round to sort out the loo and the leaking pipes....and as luck would have it he needed a new cistern thingie - and look at the old one that was saved for my backpack!!!!
I'm sure this baby can be tweaked to fit perfect onto the burger stacker..... Perfect timing as we are starting the backpack build this weekend
-
I thought it would provoke some sniggers
Now if I could find someone to vacuform me a scoop I'd stop the obsessing over washing bottles
Fab speaker for the ROMFX
in Sandtrooper Armor
Posted
Some of you may know this already but just thought I'd share....over on the UKG boards someone discovered that a Nokia HFS-12 compact speaker is MILES better than the speaker supplied with the ROMFX - I just got one of these and had it fitted this weekend - sound clarity and tone is AWESOME, highly highly recommended....about £4-5 on eBay....get one now!!!
