  1. No not the breasts I've noticed that my Tupperware jug lid seems quite small on the mortar tube, compared to other packs I've seen....I'm presuming my mortar tube is the right size, as it fits the Thermal Det bits....but is there a larger size Tupperware lid out there? I only really saw the one size on eBay so that's what I bought....

  2. So I had a go at making a "pack bag" to protect it in transit to Troops. I wanted to be able to wear it but have it concealed and padded, so I got a sheet of 1" foam and an authentic ESB quilt cover (sacrilige I hear you cry!), stitched the foam to the cover, folded it over and stitched it down the side and along the top. Then I cut an upper and lower slot into it where the pack straps are - so you simply slip the pack into the bag, undo the straps, poke them through the slits and fasten them again.

There is a bit of velcro to close the bottom and bring the foam around the base of the pabk, then you just sling it over your shoulder and off you go!

  3. Hahahah well I had one last small troop in it on the Sat then on the Sunday we got up in the morning and Steve sort of just got on with it. Was scary seeing the first coat going on, and by the second coat it was definitely "no turning back". I planned to go Sandy anyhow I just thought it wouldn't be so soon - but the pending CE and my new T21 brought it forward a bit!

  4. Here is the raw umber reapplied, and Fullers earth too - the chest plate is being cleaned up a bit though as it's a bit *too* gritty and it needs to be consistent with the cleaner abplate. I've got a wire mannequin that the whole assembled belt/chest and ab bits will be hung on soon, so consistency will be ensured.

I'm looking to try and get my weathering like Mike TK1536's armour as his is without a doubt THE best weathering in the entire galaxy ("mah hero!!!!") Anyways, more pics as the day progresses!!!

  5. Today we will be softening the current look and mellowing out all the spotty bits, adding another patchy layer of burnt umber, then possibly some small patches of the yellow (but I'm not too keen on too much yellow) then dulling it with the fullers earth. Not even started the backpack yet, do most people just use Fullers on that, or do they use pigments too?

  6. Cool,

I need to get my hands on some fullers earth to dirty my RT up, where did you get yours?

    Si

    Here's where I got mine: http://www.tk2441.co.uk/weathering/index.htm

Please note, NOT FINISHED!! But this is progress so far. Thumbs Up Lots more layers and fullers earth and general crustiness to apply yet Wink

As for if the pack gets heavy, apparently I can troop without it - cos the Sandys in the film didn't all have packs - as long as I do the initial first shift of a troop WITH the pack - but I'll see how it goes. I intend to try and be all hardocre and carry everything - probably to the detriment of my arms

  7. Feels very comfy at the minute, though what it'll be like after an hour long shift plus carring a T21 I don't know Weathering still in process of the armour - not even started the pack yet - going well but may not be finished for tonight....may post some "in progress" pics on the Weathering section though
