  1. This stuff is designed to be brushed on--it comes in a little screw-top jar. It says on the label that it "leaves no brush marks" I'm not as concerned now anyway--been checking out TD-1536's site and looking at some of the original helmets--they look pretty rough!! Maybe a few brush marks will add that little extra bit of character?
  2. I've removed the decals from my SDS lid and am currently painting the teardrops, frown and vents. I couldn't find any Humbrol so I mixed up some Plasti-Kote enamel (I'm a bit biased but I'd say the shade is bang on!) The problem is that the brush strokes really stand out!!! Any recommendations for how to fix or avoid this (for a guy that doesn't have any spraying equipment??) Thanks chris
  3. While we're on the subject of SDS gear--I was planning on ordering a set of armour but having read all the horror stories I'm wondering if I should. Any recommendations for screen-accurate(or pretty close) armour?
  4. Try www.caboots.com They're in Texas and have just about any kind of boots you'd want--including trooper boots.
  5. The brow moulding is coming off the left side because I threw it back on in a hurry so I could post these.
  6. If somebody can give me instructions on posting the pics I'll giv it a go. I did think about trying to re-assemble it, but it looks like I'd need to drill new holes and the old screw hole at the bottom of the ear piece will show if I try that. I'm definitely open to any and all suggestions though. Also, painting the cheek stripes--do you use a template or just eyeball it?
  7. Hi All-- After what seemed like an eternity (even though it was only a few weeks) my SDS Battle Spec arrived today! I was somewhat dissapointed though as it looks like it needs some work to get it up to scratch. The frown needs quite a bit of trimming, the vent decals need to be removed as they have black lines drawn on, it came without the blue lines on the cheek tubes, and the black moulding between the tusks (which look great!) needs a lot of trimming to remove excess. I was under the impression that the Battle spec was made like the ANH stunt--with a high brow, but mine is right across the top of the eyes (hero style). It looks like it should be easy enough to trim it so it looks right though. Any other battle spec owners out there have to do cleanup like this?
