  1. Hello striker.
I've been thinking about the bottle aswell.
Today I picked up a nalgene water bottle to replace my old bottle, and it struck me that it is a close size match.
The bottle in the pic with the plunger is the 32oz size and has been around since the early 1970's, so they would have been around.. time wise..
Now a days they can be found easily and fairly inexpensive.
    Any thoughts?eaabea99244f871983e283a1d18a09d8.jpg

  3. Cool dude. Just one Little note for your next Bapty build:-) try to make the scope rail a Little bit Close to the Barrel and try to use a thinner material for the rail;-)

    Cheers dude:salute:

I found some thinner aluminum for my scope rail, was 3mm, now 2mm. Lowered it as well and it looks a whole lot better. Thanks.

  4. Hello all.

I'm currently working on my roadblock Capt V2 for swat and saw Felice's tread with the pic from Ian havenhand.

I need a dlt for my trooper, and right away thought that this one would be such a cool build.

I had a dlt from plastic empire and decided to use the barrel from that, then use the rest as my template.

I unfortunately didn't take much for pics at first... got a little too into it.. but here it what I have so far.

The trigger was made from leather so it wouldn't be fragile.

A bolt to connect's the halves together which hold well, but to keep it from spinning loose I needed to add some sort of switch. I noticed that the mg 34 had something like this already on left side, so I cleaned it out and replaced it with a broken file that is held in place with a magnet and can slide.

I got a hold of a 3d printed bi-pod but needed/wanted to reinforce it. Had some zebra wood kicking around so I used that. To hold it in place I layer some more wood with another rare earth magnet and drilled a hole to receive a bolt ( with it head cut off ) that was screwed into the barrel. It holds great!

To help with transport, the side cocking bar was done like the body to barrel connection.

Still have some touch ups and t-tracks/wire to do, but pretty happy with how it's coming along

Any tips or advice is always welcome.

    Thanks.

    Jon.

    Thanks Felice.

I definitely followed your builds and appreciate the advice. I'm sure there will be another build.

  6. This is my first bapty and thought I'd share a few pics of the build and finished blaster.

Started with a doopydoos and some epoxy putty.

Then cut the barrel and ammo port.

Let the wood extend in a bit to give more surface area to glue.

Used the barrel as my sanding block to match the curve.

Used pins to secure all my small pieces. But screws for the ammo mag port and handle.

Primed, silver, then some dabs of e-6000 to simulate paint chips, the flat black. Was happy with how the glue worked.

The scope was painted brass then flat black. I used 450 grit sandpaper to weather and when the paper got clogged up with paint dust I used it to polish the paint and it gave it a nice worn smooth look.

Did the same sandpaper trick to the blaster with the addition of rubbing in some graphite powder everywhere except the t-rails. I painted those mat black .

The counter had a brass under coat then I used a semi gloss black over top to try and give a variety different black shades through out the blaster.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and am really looking forward to taking it out on my next troop.
