I love Walt's kit. Wish I would have known and gotten his. You're off to a good start and glad to see you have chosen to go sandy! Plenty of source material for your trooper here. If you ever need help, just ask!
Thx! I sure will!

Hey Roger!
You are into something bid for sure bro!
Keep it going! And if you need any help or advice, just ask.
Your helmet is already looking good. And the pull looks awesome. WTF is great armor. Walt know his stuff!
Post pictures and keep us posted on your progress!!sooner than later you will be posting your SWAT submission.
Saludos.
Thx! I'm super excited.
I'd rather just build 24/7 until it's done but I have that thing called work and stuff that I have to do. lol!!!
You're right Walt puts out a great kit. I really like it:) Yes I'll post tons of pics as I go along.

Well I finally got to order my armor and it showed up! Just like Christmas in August
This is my first armor build and I'm going to swing for the fences. I'm planning on going for SWAT with a "Stop That Ship" trooper build.
I've gotten lots of references here on the MEPD so far and hope to get some feedback as I go along. Please feel free to chime in as I move along. <<<(See what I did there) lol!!!
So I'll start with the obligatory BBB shot...
And then the unboxing...(I had a little help)
I started with the helmet. Because that most fun right?!?!
Until the next update, thanks for looking.

Looks awesome!!!
Hey thx man! Great idea thx for the inspiration!

I loved henselmonster's idea so much I had to make that part for my T21...
-
Excellent work!

Updated the model again, made it a little taller, and adjusted the fins a little. Trying to make it look as close to accurate as I can. Re-printed, painted and weathered. I'm super happy with how it turned out.
This looks AWESOME! I'm gonna have to try this on my T21;)

Looks amazing! Great job!!!

Just weighed it and the verdict is..... 10.59lbs
I know the resin stuff comes in at around 3.5 of that.
-
Looks great, I can't wait to see what your resin parts go for.Out of curiosity, how much does it weigh overall?
Still have to check it. I'm going to guess around 8-10 lbs
-
OK so this is going to be a pic heavy post but I want you guys to see everything put together. It still needs electronics but otherwise it looks like it's done
Let me get my crap together for a day or two and I'll post all the info about getting resins parts for you guys to purchase. Thx for all the support and kind words as this has gone along. I really dig how this turned out...

What did you use for the barrel ribbing?
I used some 1/2" OD black Latex tubing. I love it. It's a bit "cushy" and has great grip to it;)
-
Got the ribs on and the wire wrapped. Glad I've held up on getting this stuff to you guys. The greebies I made for the barrel are too big so I'm going to adjust and make some new ones and remold etc. Shouldn't put me back by too much. Maybe a few days or so by the time I refab, remold, recast, and repaint. lol!!! But better to catch it now rather than later.
-
It's looking great so far. How much do you think it will weigh when you are done?
I'm anxiously awaiting your molds being up for sale!
Thx! Not sure on weight but not too bad for the size of this thing. lol!!!
-
Getting close guys I promise...

It really is looking great! Any chance you want to sell a kit of your resin molds?
Thanks for the interest! Yep I'm gonna get all the info together in a thread to get everyone up to speed on what I can provide in a set of casts. I wanted to try to get through my build as much as possible to make sure everything was working out well before getting into anything for you guys. That was (at least I think) the last piece I needed to mold and cast before offering stuff up. So hopefully in the next week or so I'll get that thread started and link it in this thread for you guys. I'm really excited about how it's coming together

I've gotten the stock and handgrips stained and the trigger worked out I think. Here's a few pics...

Hey guys I have a question. My kit came with the kidney and butt plate all as one piece. Do I need to separate those for any reason or leave them as one? Thanks in advance!
