    Looking good trooper

I hope your friend is going to do the weathering on your armour to match the fantastic job he did with your helmet...it's great!

One odd thing though that sticks out to me is your belt looks to need about an inch taken off each end and the corners cropping at an angle. Oh and the rivet covets go over the rivets

    -Paul

You never miss a mistake i make trooper master LOL i have the belt rivited 5 times i didnt think to cut down the belt.... i thought i was saposed to be that long..... but i just got some great HD shots of the Sandtrroopers last night so i will fix my many mistakes ASAP!

and i wish i could get him to do my whole suit

    great looking trooper, bro!

one little thing to correct maybe, the knee drop boxes edges should be rounded up on the downside!

I will get on that tonight thanks rocko

  2. The weathering on the helmet is perfect. Not only does the dirt look authentic but it also has a "bleached in the harsh Tatooine Suns" kinda look

Love the armor too . . . the TE kit is so sweet. You're going to have one killer TD setup when its all done

What weapon are going for wit this costume? Personally I love the Lewis Heavy Blaster.

    Great work

had my eye on an MG-34 but didnt have the scratch

  3. Nice TE suit!

If you get everything to look as nice as that helmet, you'll look fantastic. Great fit and assembly.

Thanks mike believe it or not it's the frist Trooper armor i put together

A friend weathered the helmet for me. And is about to teach me how.

Diddo, looks great! Love the bucket weathering!

Unless your knee plate doesn't rub you may need to angle it outward to avoid it from catching the thigh armor when you walk, just a suggestion...

It didnt but i have made changes to the armor since the pictures where taken to fix the problem of it looking like that.

  4. Speaking of sharing Gino, why dont you share the info that you have on the material of the Vader belt boxes? you know, the small stainless steel mesh screen. any ideas? I know you know, what it is. Spill it

    I'd love to know myself.

  5. i knew there was shrinkage in size of TE and AP from the original but i was under the impression that an FX lid was roughly 10% bigger than most ANH accurate lids on the market ergo if TM suits are roughly 10% bigger than TE2 or AP suits that would make it FX size. although to be honest alot of parts on an FX kit are well out of proportion anyway i.e. the legs are shorter and wider and the forearms and shins seem smaller. just wondering anyhow, no biggy

If TE and AP armour is 10% smaller than original then another way of saying this is its 90% of the full size. FX is Therefor is 110% of the full size (being 10% bigger) And TM falls nicely in the middle at 100%.

Hope this helps make it easier to understand

Now if we all know a FX is 10% to15% from what i am told but since 10% seems to be the marker point size for the FX so be it, now by your math the FX is 20% bigger then a TE helmet.... and the TM is just right.

Dont get me worng TM has been great to me and a huge help But i have yet to see a TM and TE next to each other to show this huge differences in size Also with out proof of an Screen used helmet next to a TE and a TM

    this idea falls flat.

  6. TE2 and AP are about 10-12% smaller than TM because of their lineage.

Is it really that much? wouldn't that make TM about FX size?

Thats right an FX helmet is 10 to 15%(or so i am told) bigger then an accurate size helmet. and i also doubt there would be that much shrink on a 2nd Gen TE helmet.

with a frist gen being a sceen used helmet.

  7. First, can we work on a way to clone your wife?

That's awesome. My wife hates SW.

you should ask yourself the major question first!

how much do you want to spend on just a helmet?

there is a major price difference between TE and AP!

i don´t know about the TM helmet, but don´t hesitate and ask him!

my personal favorite is the TE2 (because of its screenused origin) followed by TM (last pictures posted here are looking absolutly great) and last the AP (at least when not thinking about money)

Last i talked to TM his price for a finished helmet was Great about the same price you would pay for a TE2 helmet kit. I would go with TM

far sharper pulls then TE2, and it;s about ready just add stickers or paint!

but if you want to put together your own helmet then go with TE2 but if you havent put together many TE helmets you might mess up a few times

  8. Great looking helmet Paul. Trim the right ear some more though.

I can understand why Gino would think the face is recast. Some of the much more easy parts to sculpt look a bit off to me, but the face which has got to be the hardest thing in the wolrd to get right looks very, very close.

That probably just means you have spent much more time on the face though.

If only i could sculpt as good as you!

I wish you would spend more time on the "hero" ROTJ version or the Biker Scout helmet though, as there are ANH/ESB helmets all over the place.

I have come to the conclusion that no ROTJ helmet has ever been molded, just ANH molds reworked. I would love to be proved wrong, but i've not seen anything that looks even close to the funny ear version of the ROTJ trooper helmet yet.

Anyway, as i said, it looks great

    Keith.

Javamokey is molding a ROTJ helmet now
