John,
Im im not mistaken the movie ones were black and painted or dyed white as well..
Yup, so technically they are more screen accurate that way
But white boots weathered and scuffed look great too, I just think its cheaper in the long run to do the black boots painted white.
They look just as good as TKboots or Imperial boots in my option.

I got black ones from H&M and painted them white.

I have my buddy with a Form 1 printer printing this up for me. It should be very detailed. Only the prototype will be 3D printed. The final product will be cast in cold cast resin using brass or bronze powder to give it an authentic metal look and feel. I will add 2 pin posts to the back of each badge so it can be worn on a shirt, lanyard or badge holder.
I should get the print by wednesday and I will post it up here.
-
Had a misprint, stopped it about halfway, had to readjust print settings. I might hit up my buddy with a Form 2 to get a higher detailed print. But at least you can get scale. I sized it to be around the same size a regular police badge.

Awesome! Any idea of a time line this would be available or a price point?
Not yet, I'm just working on this in my free time. I will probably print up the first prototype this weekend.

Heres a small update. Cleaned up the design quite a bit. Getting it prepped so I can make the 3D model and then print it. Ill post pics of the prototype once its all printed!

I'm down for one when the next run rolls around

The AUREBESH looks more Mepd. Plus we won't have issues with local law enforcement lol
Thats a good point haha. Yea, Aurebesh may be the way to go. Also I think it just looks cooler!
I am going to try to make it the same dimensions as a real badge so it can fit on badge wallets and chains like this. Mostly because I want to wear it when I troop occasionally haha.
-
I'm in! Are you planning both fonts or just English or Aurebesh?
I kinda like the Aurebesh best, so I'm leaning toward that but I want to see what you guys think first. I might be able to make both, maybe.

I am going for my Police Officer deployment and I wanted to get some feedback on my pack.
It is a Dirtyboy kit. The canteen is missing (because the paint is drying) but I wanted to see if everything else looked good so far.
Working on figuring out how to attached the backpack straps.

That would be cool, what cost we looking at ?
Depending on the end price I would definitely go for one.
Don't know the details on that yet, depends on how many people are interested and the materials cost. I would be making these by hand and making the decals for the TKID. The process isn't too hard once I get the mold made. I'll update with potential costs once i can make a materials list.
-
That looks sick! Would it include the weathering too? Can you show a picture of what it could look like in Aurebesh too?
Cool thing about cold cast is that it kinda has the cool weathered look naturally. It would look pretty close to that Dredd badge above
Just added the Aurebesh option to the original post.

This is roughly what the finished product material will look like.

EDITIED 2/21/18
Re-opening the interest thread for this. I will be making a new mold and taking back over the sales thread for this. Badge is made of a cold cat brass resin. It is accurate in size to typical police badges, it will fit on a badge holder. Sales thread will reopen later this year! Thanks!

i just used this method, looks awesome. I applied a light Unbleached Titanium coat on top of everything and it gives it a sandy faded look too. Adds an extra layer which is nice.

I was about to order one from Trooperbay, are there big differences between this and Trooper1?
-
Thanks everyone! I will look into shirts, I will post an interest thread later so I can get numbers and an accurate quote. Same goes for patches. Probably won't happen until after I'm deployed (hopefully soon!)

Heres an update with a trooper on the dewback. Let me know what you think!

While waiting for E6000 to dry I worked on a logo for fun. Not sure what to use it for, I am not even deployed yet (hopefully soon!). Maybe it could work for a shirt or patch down the road.

Just got the hi-res print and it turned out great!
I need to do some clean up on it but it should be ready to make a mold from soon. Now i just need to get supplies and work on the pricing. I am fairly certain the price will be pretty low around $15 per badge. I just need to run this by the proper channels to see if i can sell it and I will make an order thread once I have a few made. Each badge will come with 2 pin post backs so you can wear it on your shirt or on a badge holder or wherever.
