  1. Voting has begun! Some words from the Legion on the election process: There are just under 5 days for you to cast your vote. The first time you access your ballot, you will be asked to setup a new pin for this year. Keep track of that pin if you want the ability to change your vote! Make your vote count. Rank ALL candidates for an office. This is important as we use Single Transferable Vote (STV)! Read below for more information!!! Over 1000 troopers threw away their vote for LCO each of the past two years by not following the point above. Voting Starts: Wednesday Feb 14th @ 12:01AM GMT Voting Ends: Sunday Feb 18th @ 11:59PM GMT STV Info: STV, known as "Single Transferable Vote" is an automated voting system where you rank your candidates in order of preference. Our specific implementation of STV is also known as "Instant Runoff Vote" or IRV. To "win" an election - a candidate needs to win a round of voting by a majority vote To calculate a majority winner vote, the voting system goes through a series of tallies. It will start with a first round, see whether or not a majority percentage was met. In the event that there is not, it removes the lowest ranked candidate, and redistributes all the impacted votes based on the next priority selection those voter put in. It recalculates again to see if a majority percentage was met. In the event that the voters did not enter alternate selections, then their vote is discarded! For example, our current LCO election has 4 candidates. If, after the vote, the first round tally comes out like this--there is clearly no majority vote here: Candidate A, 28% Candidate B, 27% Candidate C, 23% Candidate D, 22%. At this point, what happens is that the system will remove the bottom candidate, and take it down to 3 and recalculate. After recalculation it may look like this, which is still not a majority vote. Candidate A, 38% Candidate B, 37% Candidate C, 25% That cycle repeats, and the last candidate is removed, and the votes re-ranked/recalculated by preferences: Candidate A 62% Candidate B 38% At this point Candidate A has a majority vote, and is is declared the winner. This is all done by computers in a matter of seconds, lightning fast. The system has been tested by the developers multiple times, and works quite well. Its intended to prevent a "spoiler effect" where a low ranking candidate takes votes from a candidate with a larger support base. The key to it is ranking all candidates. Put the ones you dislike at the bottom of your rankings, which then makes sure they are eliminated as the system tallies the votes through elimination rounds. The past two years many people have not ranked all candidates. By opting to do so, many have effectively had their vote thrown out mid way through the election process. The reason that we collect all of the data up front is to avoid needing to ask people to return to the submit updated ballots - stretching the voting process out by (potentially) weeks. To provide some specific data: In 2016: 4527 members voted for the LCO. 30% of them had their votes discarded by the 4th round. As a result, only 3147 troopers selected our LCO. That means that 1380 members went to the polls - but did not have their voices heard in 2016. In 2017: 4730 members voted for the LCO. 22% of them had their votes discarded by the 3rd round. As a result, only 3681 troopers selected our LCO. 1049 members did not have their voices heard in 2017 because they decided to not rank all of the candidates. In both cases, these troopers could have made a difference. Be heard! Make your vote count!

  3. I’ve seen it done. I wouldn’t recommend, it winds up looking too uniform and you look more like a toasted marshmallow! Lol im sure it can be done to look good though if done right!
  4. Yea I would just make it out of aluminum or something. This is whats in mine.
  5. There’s actually a metal bar in there instead of a grommet
  6. WE DID IT! (Now hopefully no one unfollows us before we get some padding on this number lol!)

  9. Only 1 more follower until we hit 1000!
  10. Well first up, the Anovos bucket is WAAAAY too big for my wifes head. Makes her look like a bobble head. I have an ATA helmet I made last year, its smaller and fits her much better. So I will give her that bucket. I just sold off the Anovos bucket to finally get myself an RS bucket! Very excited. Two build threads are coming soon now! Headed to an armor party this weekend to get the trimming started and hopefully sizing figured out.
  11. I stacked a bunch of spare abs and glued them to the back of the plate so I could glue it onto my shin. I can show a picture later when I am home from work to show you what I mean.
  12. Man, I have been waiting for a live action TV series since George Lucas announced it on stage at Celebration III its been 13 years! Lets get it done!
  13. Dewback prod...I need one of those! Have you looked into 3D hubs printing some electro binoculars for you? I have 3D printed Electro binoc and I think its great. The model isn't 100% accurate and I may print a new one soon with the new more accurate model on thingiverse.
  14. I agree about Sandie Comms. If you need a good budget radio, thats a great option. Also if you have access to a 3D printer there is an excellent model in our 3D parts for Field Pack topic (along with several other pieces). I would recommend taking your time and assembling the accurate parts over the course of a few months or so while you prep for SWAT. In the meantime use your RS pack to get approved and deployed. I have spent almost 2 years now getting as many accurate and authentic parts I can for my SWAT pack. I am finally at the point where I can start building it. Striders build is a great resource for what parts you need. I would also reference Gino's and Rolf's pack when going for SWAT.
  15. All set! We will get you set up on the election threads shortly.
