  1. Welcome Wayne! You made the right choice going dirty! Lol. It’s a great community over here, please feel free to ask anything you need. I’m helping my wife with her Sandy too!
  2. As far as makers go I am not sure. Someone with a better eye for that stuff would need to take a peek
  3. Not too bad. The backpack would have to be updated a quite a bit. The armor would need some updates too. Looks like it was assembled using the overlap method, that would need to be revised to have cover strips. The kidney and butt would need to be separated. Everything else looks ok The shining star is that Hyperfirm T-21. Its a steal at $350. I wish I bought mine for that price. In good condition. Just needs the greeblies added to it, like the coil and other parts, pretty easy to upgrade. Hard to find a decent rubber/foam Lewis gun cast. If anything I would get that blaster.
  4. any chance youd send it out to the states?? All I can find is 2.5" clear tubing. And it still doesn't fit my caps!
  5. Moving more info from other threads over here. Here are some detailed shots of the trooper. Here are some more screen caps of the Heavy Trooper skin. This is the black pauldron version. Some good shots of the pack too.
  6. Luckily @CrookKnight has already built and sells these packs. They look great!
  7. Now that elections are over and we are getting back on track I think its time to refocus on getting our next CRL moving. The SE trooper is basically the same as the Battlefront Heavy Trooper. So these should be developed simultaneously. Here is where we are so far in research, really we just need someone with a set of ROTJ armor, or at least an ROTJ bucket and ANH armor detailed like ROTJ armor (u shaped gaskets, etc.) The armor, like the rest of the imperial troopers in BF2 use ROTJ armor. In the game, when the mission is not on Tatooine, the Troopers wear a black Pauldron, looks to be leather and full sized and not the shorter neoprene looking version that the Sandtoopers wear in the special edition. The Heavy troopers also have a ROTJ bucket for these missions. It looks like in the Tatooine Mission however they are given an Orange Pauldron and the painted details on the helmet match more to ANH's style. So maybe in the CRL we should allow both ANH and ROTJ buckets (like we do for the Magma Trooper) Both version of this trooper wear a MP40 shoulder pouch, which the SE troops do not. The pack is also basically the same as the special edition troopers. Also I love the mud and grime on the boots and shins of some of these troopers! Here is an example of the Heavy Trooper details for Tatooine Missions. Still looking for better screenshots, but here is one: Note the grey frown, the tears and traps don't have lines. Looks more like the ANH Sandy bucket. Still has bubble lenses though it seems
  8. Yea I definitely paid more that $350 for one. It is a great blaster, lightweight. I wish they still made them.
  9. Check out this sales thread over at FISD for some TD armor and a hyper firm T-21. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/44247-sand-trooper-armor-with-tons-of-accessories/?tab=comments#comment-599605 Hyperfirm t-21s aren't made anymore. I have one and highly recommend it. Cast from a real Lewis Gun.
  10. Looked into the email thing. You can update your preferences in the Notification settings part of the your profile settings.
  11. Tosche Traders doesn't always have everything in stock and has kind of shied away from Sandtrooper parts ever since the recasting fiasco last year (Tosche Traders selling recasts of Woodmans radio). Also Chirs, the guy who runs it, recently moved and hasn't been operating his shop during the moving process. While that was a nice one stop shop for a lot of hard to find parts, you can find many of the other parts on eBay, Etsy or other sellers (like Crookknight or RWA Creations). It has taken me over a year to source all of my authentic parts though those outlets. Takes time but is 100% worth it in the end. Another option is 3D printed parts, many of the parts that Crookknight sells that isn't sourced from somewhere else is 3d printed. Which is great because they are super lightweight parts. I can tell you, the Tosche Trader siphon is SUPER heavy. It will weigh down your pack. I would recommend the RWA siphon as it is incredibly detailed for a vaccuformed piece and is very very light weight or a 3D printed one from Crookkinght.
  12. As far as the 501st access goes you’ll need to request access via the “request 501st access” thread in the Barracks section of the forum. The command staff has to manually add 501st access for you, sadly it’s not automated. i will get back to you on the email thing. I just realized I don’t get email notifications from MEPD.net at all anymore.
  13. As long as you can't see it or have it change the look from the outside, it is approvable at all levels.
  14. Posted to the MEPD Facebook page as well
  15. Thanks Rob for posting this. I will be sure to Pin this post.
  16. Here is the "old school" break down by Pandatrooper. Many of these parts have been found inaccurate. We should probably re-create this with the new parts. It is a good place to learn some of the terminology that has stuck around though.
  17. Hey Darren! No worries about asking questions. We are happy to help you out! There have been many different discoveries over the years for authentic or close to authentic parts for the packs. Here is a quick list Karrimor Totem backpack frame- You can find these on eBay every once in a while. Seedtrays- You can get those from a number of makers, I recommend Woodman or RWA Creations Sonix Victory 75 Radio - Nearly impossible to find (though three have now been found in the past couple years. Pricey though) You can get good replicas. Woodman offers a cast version of an authentic radio. Sandie Comms make great replicas. You can also scratch build or 3D print one too. Brexton Lunch box (or tool box) - The jury is still out if these are accurate. They probably aren't exactly what the prop makers used for the original packs, but they are very very close. You can find them on eBay or etsy. Exhaust - Now these are typically scratch built. Or you can 3d print your own (files on Thingiverse). Crooknight sells the 3d printed versions too. Mushroom Caps/ Plunger - Made from a plunger. They are on amazon occasionally https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001P0F40/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_27?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A7E2FBUNXT0TG Shires UP90 or UP100 Syphon. - Also hard to find and pricey. RS props will be selling replicas soon. RWA creations sells a shockingly detailed vaccuformed version. I would recommend that one, very light weight. You can also 3D print one or scratch build. Bottles - Nothing exact. Best to find something close in size. Strider used a shampoo bottle in his build. Typically these are just found parts. Tupperware Pitcher lid / Radar Dish - You can find these on eBay. Giostyle Safari 600 canteen - You can find the originals occasionally on etsy or eBay, but Lionstar makes the same thing. You can find them in the for sale section of the forum The mortar tube is usually a 2.5" diameter abs pipe. The control panel and caps are sold by a few people. RWA Creations and other armor makers generally have them. Ask for a picture to make sure they are accurate. They are not exactly the same as Stormtrooper Thermal detonator details. This is just for the "Move Along" pack, there are other parts for other packs. Depending on what you want. I hope this helped! Be sure to check out other pack builds, especially Striders. They will be incredibly helpful in your build. Good luck and always feel free to ask questions!
  18. I don't know about specific colors, but I use a light colored tan and a medium brown. I use charcoal (drawing charcoal, not the kind you start fires with) to do any scoring marks or to use in places that need to darken up a bit.
