I'm starting to put together my RS armor and noticed that it really statically attracts a LOT of dust and dog hair that's very difficult to wipe all off. I'm not sure if this is just 'cause of the process of my putting it together (perhaps the friction of sanding it is building up a static charge??)... Is this an issue with ya'll? Is there something I can do about it? Spray it with static guard??? Or is it just because it's winter and it'll be fine when I go outside in warmer weather??

I used a 1/2" OD round flexible foam insulation from Home Depot (used for weatherproofing doors) and wrapped it around 14 times (tapering the start and end points). This made the whole thing 7" long. From the screen-caps I had, this appeared to be correct (to me, at least). I just used hot glue to attach it. It really holds well! But be careful to not get the gun too close to the foam or else it'll melt it.
Then I painted several layers of black "Plasti-Dip" over that. This stuff is GREAT! It holds well and is really flexible... so I don't have to worry at all about it chipping off.
i still need to weather it a bit... I'm new to guns n' stuff (I'm more experienced with costume making), so I dunno if it looks ok and is up to MEPD standards.
Edit: Here's the foam I used: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Frost-King-E-O-1-2-in-x-20-ft-Poly-Foam-Caulk-Saver-C22H/100159362#.Uqfp9BkpDjM

So it would be outside of the pocket top?

I received my MP40 pouches today... I dyed em up and filled 'em with foam to fill 'em out a bit - just have to do some weatherin'
But what do I do about the gap under the flap? Do ya'll just leave it empty like that? What about the fact that you can see the foam inside?
Also, what's the best way to re-attach the tool pouch?

I HAVE ordered the Angelus white! I should be getting it any day now. I'm excited to try it out.
Before that I brought my boots to a local shoe repair place that's been around since the '60s. They flat out told me that it was impossible to turn black boots white... Pfft I say!

I receievd my pair of Land's End Chelsea boots the other day.
(on sale from $159 to $95) http://www.landsend.com/products/mens-fulton-chelsea-boots/id_228833?CM_MERCH=DTP_SEARCH_null&action=DTP_SEARCH_null&query=chelsea%20boot
(check here for promo codes http://www.retailmenot.com/view/landsend.com to save even more $$ - like 30% more!).
The boots fit me fine, but I'm wondering if the toe is too pointy looking? I've seen other boot pix (anh screen shots and other brands ya'll use) that have been posted, but the pix are usually taken from the side, so it's hard to tell how pointy the toe should be.
Do these look ok?

Hello, My name is DustinCropsBoy.
I was fairly active on the RPF & TDH years ago but took a very long break from all things SW.
But I recenlty got the itch to build costumes again and wanna start with Sandy (one costume I never did but always wanted).
I'm looking forward to playing catch up with all the 'new' discoveries and vendors.
How to keep hip pockets straight?

ok. I think I got it fixed.... I ended up adding leather loops to the existing diagonal loops of the pouches. Just didn't know if there was another, better way.
