I've always liked the idea of Hovi speakers, but wasn't sure how practical they were to troop with as they're so small. Thanks for the responses chaps, I'm coming up with a few ideas...
-
Hmmm, sounds like a pretty good idea.

I've seen a few pics of lid mounted mics, but problem is when you take your helmet off for a breather it's attached to your body by a wire. Plus I was thinking if it's in the balavlava it's more likely to stay in the right position.

Hello everyone, my ROM/FX arrived yesterday. Absolutely amazing I have to say. I'm just wonderng what everyone thinks is the best way of mounting it. Obviously there are tons of methods, but just wanted to hear a few ideas. I've been thinking about having the mic inside the balaclava, the board & battery in a project box behind the chest plate and the speaker maybe in the tool pouch on the shoulder. Is this an ill-advised way of doing it?

That's okay mate

Already on it. I wanted to get some replacement thighs eventually anyway as I'd taken way too much off the backs and had to rebuild them with plastic & miliput.
-
Well that's no good...

I assembled it

I think your eyes are indeed deceiving you... Although I did take way too much off the top of one of them, so had to rebuild it. Which was a rookie mistake...

Yup, helmet too. Although the pack I made from various bits I raided from the garden centre & ScrewFix catalogue...

Nice! Question? What helmet are you using. Just wondering.
My armour is from RS Propmasters

Cheers chaps! Submitted my pics about 5 weeks ago, so was starting to think maybe I'd made a pigs ear of it all haha.

Evening Troopers,
I've been lurking round these parts a little while now, so should probably introduce myself properly. I'm James & live in Brighton on the south coast of England. I bought my armour from RS at the end of 2012 without really knowing about any of this. I'd just always wanted some TK armour and had just started a new job with much better money so... Needless to say my build was a nightmare as I wasn't aware of the forums or WIPs or anything really, so had Rob texting me how to assemble each bit as I went. Anyway, I was rejected initially & kinda gave up on it for a while, but managed to pick up some second hand Scout armour and eventually got out trooping.
Been back working on my RS armour the past couple of months and think it's finally coming together. Just waiting for my back pack and I'm all set. Hopefully I won't lose any more hair because of it...
