  1. At 1420 hours today I officially became TD-10120 in the 501st Florida Garrison... Thanks everyone for your help. I could not have done it with out your generosity and guidance. Now Keep Calm and Move Along...

  2. Only have a few more things to do: Attach the pouches to the belt when they arrive with the T-21, weather the ab piece, attach the butt to the back, and buy a backpack. I'm going to go for Legion approval minus the pack for now. I just don't have the funds after that T-21 order.

As far as the weathering goes: I went heavy with two different colors this round. I will eventually be redoing the weathering as my skill becomes more adept there.

And just an FYI this is the NE helmet all built. I had to use a lot of caulking in the ears so they look a little wonky.

  3. Chris,

Like you I am on the larger side to. But I did cut all the extra plastic off as I think it makes the sides to square. I then added flexible shims in. Once you have your ammo pouches on you hardly notice them. I put the 3 rivets that should be on the kidney plate on the front of the shim so that you still get the effect of all 6 rivets close together. Hope this helps.

    Andrew.

What kind of flexible material did you use?

  4. Hey Guys,

I only have a few things left to do on my armor. Mostly cosmetic. The major issue I have right now is on the placement of the rivets on the side of my ab and back armor pieces. I need all the extra plastic which come on the sides of the NE armor. Where should I place them? Should I cut the excess off and then add shims? I'm at a loss. Here are some pictures.

  5. I did a preliminary fit test. I have all the strapping done at this point and every piece put together. I don't have the belt or thigh boxes attached yet. What my question is is how do I keep the sides together? I know the belt will help but since I need all the extra plastic on the sides its looking weird still. I also didn't have anyone around to hold the camera so sorry about the crappy focus. Also where would I attach the side rivets since I need all the extra plastic?

And if there is anything else that looks off let me know. I'm going to start weathering all the other pieces tonight.

  6. I don't think you over trimmed. The NE bucket's ears fit weird onto the sides of the helmet so if anythink I think more will still have to come off. MEPD member Purplehaze sent me some pictures of his NE bucket. Message him because he may have more insight then I do.

  7. So I need to confess something to you guys... Im a fat kid. The NE armor has extra plastic on the ab and back pieces to accomodate for the extra pounds. Where should I put the rivets on the ab and back pieces and still be able to go for police officer deployment? I need all the extra plastic so that the sides won't show through.
