Good stuff Rolf! I just checked the website and it says they're also available in black, is there a reason you got brown? They shouldn't be hard to dye black of course before they're painted white, so these look like they'll do the trick either way.

Alright so what're you boys sayin' about this new trim? Close but not quite? I agree with Paul that this stuff is a bit too think and round, and I'd like to get as close as possible to the real trim for my helmet. If it's out only option I'll snag the Webers stuff...too bad Sealsdirect had to blow it just before I start a helmet.

I'm desperately trying to find an affordable pair of the proper black boots. I've seen them go by chelsea or jodhpur boots, but they seem to go for a fair bit on eBay and are all in the UK. I found a couple eBay sellers, but the shipping is a killer. I'd love to find a North American source for some good boots!

Just finished this build for my bud Colin, aka TD551. I was asked to do one on a budget that still had a relatively accurate appearance rather than just grabbing random parts and throwing them together to look like a "spacey" pack. Here's what I was able to do for $50:
I shot this in the middle of the night with just a light from my porch, so the colours look a little off. I'll snap some during the day this weekend though.
Hope you guys like it, I didn't have the budget to get in on Seth and Mike's boxes or radio plate, and some details were fudged, but all the packs are different and I wasn't going for one exact design. Overall I'm quite pleased.
I found a set of hamburger stackers at the thrift store for $1.99, some containers that have dimensions close to the accurate ones for $5 each, a pool filter for $9, scratchbuilt the radio box, and scoured the basement and recycling bin for everything else.
Oh, and 100 points to the first person to decipher the aurebesh text!

Not to hijack this thread from the dead, but I just wanted to post how my ESB helmet turned out
I haven't scratched it up yet, I'm going to wait a day or two and then roll it around the driveway a bit.
