There seems to be two kinds I've seen, the type you have in link and the ribs going long ways I think long ways is better as for support link your chest to back with anything like canvas or webbing but place the elastic over top It doesn't need to be functional just aesthetic Hope this helps But in answer to question I think you need the other type of elastic any fabric shop should have it on rolls just buyby the metre Check my post in hurt locker there's a pic of both types
