  1. I've put one together as well. For accurate looking armor I recommend Fettpride. He also just put out a very accurate looking ESB helmet. His wait times may be long though. Right now for soft parts/ shoes MOW Studios may be your quickest bet. He also makes great guantlets and a jetpack. The ASOK version is based on a reworked MR helmet.
  2. Grout does come in different colors... I've re-tiled both my bathrooms. Lol! You should be able to find a tan/ light brown color... depending on your location. Is there a tile supply near you? They may be able to get some for you.
  3. Question... I think I need to paint my helmet to cover up some marks and scratches I made during assembly. What paint is recommended? I'm on ATA's list for armor so I'd like to match that ABS as close as possible (or will it even matter since I will be weathering the armor anyway) Thanks for the help!
  4. Hey John! I'm a year late... but I'm finally here. Lol!... and I'm still not done with the animated ARC Trooper I began earlier in the year. Lol! (Just have to finish the chest and kama!)
  5. Thanks for the encouragement guys! I've been looking at building a base costume that could have parts swapped out to make it an acceptable SWAT level costume too... maybe one of the captains that carry a Lewis gun? Decisions, decisions. lol!
  6. Last year I was thinking of the black pauldroned trooper with the three leather MP40 pouches and RT97 gun. I'm up in the air about it now. My garrison mate has an awesome TD so I want to make something that would compliment his if we trooped together.
  7. Thanks! Right now just the helmet. Lol! I'm on ATA's list for armor and I have the $ earmarked for that already. I've already contacted you about a backpack kit on the main forums so that will be the next big purchase. I was going to order some canvas belt and strapping from trooperbay... maybe a pauldron too if it would be SWAT acceptable (although I'm not sure I want to go that route) I'm in Home Depot every other weekend so picking up supplies to make a BFG is easy... once I decided which one to make. Lol!
  8. Hi all! I signed up here about a year ago but have finally begun collecting parts for a TD. I'm not sure what specific trooper I want to do yet. Anyway, I just received my helmet from ATA! I'm looking for opinions on how it looks. I wish the ears were a little closer in fit... but I have a second set if these are not good. I plan on hand painting the the traps next. Thanks for your input!
  9. Hello All, My name is Paul. I live in NJ and am a proud member of the Northeast Remnant. I've been lurking around here for a bit now contemplating doing a Sandtrooper. I joined the 501st in 2007 with an FX stormtrooper kit and then went on to build up an ESB Boba Fett. I then started an Ep III clonetrooper build I finish last September. (My clone is the CRL pictiure for the 41st Elite clone!) After getting my Fett up to a really great level I switched gears, sold it and began ANH Darth Vader this summer. I'm getting restless again and think I want to switch gears one more time. I've always liked the appearance of the Santroopers with all their gear and the BFG's! Weathered armor is cool looking to me (since EP III clones are dirty too!) and I'm not afraid to dirty up clean armor. If I do move forward with this project I'd look to build up to SWAT level. Its a challenge that I'd really like to udertake. The MG-15 blaster is very interesting to me and I look forward to building one. I've done alot of scratchbuilding with armor and gear from Boba, the clone and Vader so I believe I can pull it off. I've looked at the guidlines posted here and have found a Sandtrooper with an interesting combination of pouches as well as the MG-15. I'm a bigger guy (husky as they say) so realistically the AM armor is the best suited to my size. I'll look to get a set when the maker unveils his newest version/ mods. I've bookmarked threads here and at FISD already as sources of info and vendors for when I'm ready. We have an excellent TD in my garrison that I'll definitely rely on as a resource too. (Sorry John... don't know if your screen name here is the same. lol!) Thanks! Here are a few pics of my previous costumes and the Vader I'm working on now. Enjoy! ESB Boba Fett 41st Elite Clonetrooper My current build: ANH Darth Vader... just awaiting Helmet/ Chest, paint, and a few other odd parts.
