  1. Quick question... Does the Roadblack captain (MP 40 Pouches scene) have a counter on his blaster? I've decided to make a Bapty version build but can't see if he has a counter or not. I've looked at some SWAT builds and I see some that have it... Others I can't tell. I'd like to know because it will affect how I make the scope rail and attachment method. Can anyone give some input or recommendations? I'd like to eventually go for SWAT so I'm building with that in mind. Thanks!
  2. Little update here: This is one of Anthony's T-21 blasters. I know the trooper I want to do doesn't use this blaster but I wanted to have a BFG anyway. (I'll get an E11 later on hopefully from Darth Voorhees) It has great detailing and a nice feel in the arms!
  3. Thanks! I've been looking at pics of the real helmet from starwarshelmets.com and the real ones seem a bit thicker. I didn't feel the left side was bad but I think its more noticeable on the right side were there are three less stripes.
  4. Hey Jason!I didn't realize you were the same guy who made that Shocktrooper on ct.net! lol! I will look at some more images of the captains face to see where the mic tips should be located. I will need to take them out one more time to weather the inside of tube anyway.
  5. First up is the helmet. I got the NE helmet with the armor thinking of going clean TK and I wanted to have the plastic match. Had I known I'd go back to doing a TD I would have gotten a more accurate helmet like the ATA I briefly owned last year. It is what it is... so I tried to do the best I could with it. I cut the front of the dome to better mimic the high brow look of the Roadblock Captain. I thought I wouldn't care but eventually the 3 pc design bothered me so I used abs sludge to fill in the gap. I used finer and finer sandpaper to smooth it all out. I finally polished it up with Novus. I figure that I can always get another helmet in the future if I need to. The ears are not finished yet but hope to get them painted up this weekend. After that I will pain the eardcrews white. I counted 16 tubestripes on the left and only 13 on the right... I need to still remove one more on the right. More WIP pic to follow soon!
  6. Hi all! I've finally been able to begin a TD in the last few weeks. As I progress through the build I'll post up pics for comments and critiques from the members. I decided to try and replicate the Roadblock Captain because of his unique look. Although I'm trying to look like a specific TD, I'm not sure I will go for SWAT status. Still I'm going to to attempt getting as close as possible using the screen caps and WIP pics posted by SWAT members here. List of parts: Armor/ helmet - NE 3 button ab detail - TM Belt - Tkittel Split rivet set - Echo Brackets - Mr. No Stripes Rubber hand guards - TKbondservant Pauldron - Trooper1 Backpack - Quartermaster Boots - black Chelsea boots dyed white E11 - not yet purchased (trooperbay?) Pouches - Blaster 8266 (also making a T21 for me too!)
  7. Figures.... just when I was ready for a TD pack. Lol!
  8. Yes, that bottom button. Lol! I thought the first plate was too big so I sanded it down. I'll try making another.
  9. OK... let me know what you think. The plate is just taped on. The buttons would be painted white. I think they are OK. Not as big as I'd like by maybe if I take more material from the sides it might make the buttons look bigger. I also tried to give the corners angles.
  10. Thanks for making that clear Rick! I think I can whip something up tonight to post on her and show. Maybe someone else in my boat can get some ideas.
  11. Hadn't thought of trooperbay. Yeah the TK buttons seem too small. They are about the size of a dime/ thumbtack head.
  12. Thanks for the input guys! I will post some pics with my idea before I commit to gluing on a homemade button plate. Dime size buttons seem too small to me. I have the nickel sized buttons that I think look OK (and close to what I've seen others have). They are rounded and have rounded edges too. Should the notch be showing or covered up by the ab button plate? That will make a difference in the spacing of the buttons. My kit only had the TK button plate. Not a three button TD version. ...I just saw your newest pics and that's what I want the buttons to look like! Lol!
  13. What is usually used for the ab buttons on the left side of a TD's ab plate? I've been looking at the builds here and I see that some appear to have three largish buttons... some three smaller TK sized buttons with the lower indentation showing. Which is correct? Is there a special part I should look to get? Can I make it myself? I did find this thread that helps a bit... http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=11799&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1 Thanks for the help!
  14. When I was a kid driving down the New Jersey Turnpike I would see those types of loaders as we passed Elizabeth, NJ. I always imagined they were AT-AT walkers.
  15. Not a bad idea... but remember that in the latest revision of the OT DVD releases, they edited out the original Boba Fett voice and inserted Temuera Morrison's voice. Lucas intended the ESB Fett to really be Boba.
  16. I'll take a look at that one too. I haven't really studied them in depth yet.
  17. Cool! I appreciate the advice. Hopefully I'll be able to contact you for the kit in a few weeks!
  18. So we're in the same boat! Lol! What pack would you consider then?
  19. Thanks darthgrace! I have no problems having to build the backpack. I just want some opinions on which pack to do if there is a preference in the community and among the command staff. I'm more interested in Police Officer status than SWAT right now anyway. I think a dirty TD looks best with a backpack anyway.
  20. I'm interested in building the Docking Bay 94 "Tuck and roll" TD... mainly because I want to build a T21 and I have the correct leather pouches. This particular trooper has no backpack but I believe you must have a backpack to get the TD designation. My question is: What backpack would the experts here recommend? (I've messaged Dirty Boy about a kit a while back so I'm definitely going to get his gear) When/ if I decide to go for SWAT status I would just take a pic without the backpack. I appreciate any help. Thanks!
