Mine is good. Thank you.

I believe TM is offering the SE sandtrooper kit. Also, the SE sandtrooper is used in the new Battlefront game.
I think the "sandtrooper" in Battlefron has an ANH helmet but ROTJ styled armor. The new Magma trooper has ROTJ styled helmet and armor.
-
Since this trooper is seen on screen he is eligible to become a Legion costume. But being that these troopers are from the Special Edition, the armor is different from the original TD armor. The backpack is also different.
The armor is based off of the Return of the Jedi armor and helmet. Do you have ROTJ specific armor? You could modify an existing set appropriately or get a set of specific armor. There are two makers that I know of who this set. You might have to do some research for the SE backpack.
I don't know of anyone who has made these specific TD's but they certainly are unique in their own right. Contact our Detachment Leader "Dirty Boy" for more guidance and coming up with a CRL.
Good luck!

Congratulations!

That's a great scratchbuild!

Yes... Try to emulate what you see on a screen trooper.

No prob.
I don't know how other people have done it.
My "rocket scientist" designed the sniper plate with the dual spring assembly. It is secure at the bottom spring. And the top spring is semi-secured. The springs allow the plate to twist and flex when it bumps against the thigh.
Quite a clever fix!

I think pack will become the new SWAT level detail for the Move Along captain.

Mike doesn't visit these parts very often, and his website has disappeared into the ether. Fortunately I saved a copy of his build tutorial here:

It's been almost 10 years since I started working with Mike and Seth to create an accurate backpack kit! Thanks to the hard work of MEPD troopers, new information is always being discovered, and the kit has continued to evolve.

I attest to that!

Could your thigh armor be too big? Do you have pics of you in armor?

Its the "Year of the Pauldron". Lol!

Excellent deduction!

I used Rustoleum Matte clearcoat. I sprayed from far away so the topcoat dries with a gritty texture. I like how the armor feels to the touch.

I thought that some of those sandtroopers in the Tunisian desert were from the Tunisian army. I remember reading that somewhere.
Perhaps the Davin Felth characters was one of those men?

Interested!

Congratulations!

That's a great looking blaster! The extra detailing really brings it to life!

Thanks. The RS site sounds like they found an original item and used that for reference. If it is just Tooper1 's then that makes choosing one a bit easier!
Send him a PM just to be sure.

To add to this, does anyone own an RS props Pauldron? They say on their site they used a pattern traced from original motorbike padding . Looks good.
How does the RS Pauldron compare to the the other two?
I believe that trooper1 supplies pauldrons to RS. I remember seeing him reply to someone in a thread here (or maybe FISD?)

Hey Paul, yes it could be with a little bit of work. At this point i would probably just keep your set up and if down the road you've got some other adjustments you want to do, tackle them at the same time.
Thanks for the info Rick!
I have a pack that Quartermaster built for me and wondered if it could be an easy swap.

I wonder if they were some corrugated cardboard material painted white. It could explain why they change shape in the images.
