  1. Dont know if it is my computer but I have six more pics I am trying to upload but it keeps saying the file is just to large. frustrating
  2. This is probably a foolish question but does the shim that is used to close the kidney to the ab plate have to be flush with the surface of the armor? Or with the velcro can it sit behind and just butt up against the back of the kidney and ab plate?
  3. Thanks! I just didnt see the reason for it as I have never had a problem with mine either. I will however if this is a requirement.
  4. Possibly a dumb question...is it absolutely required to attach the arm gauntlets to the bicep pieces with straps. My previous TK build I just added foam pieces to the inside of the forearm. Is this a MEPD requirement? Sorry for the dumb question.
  5. I think I will be painting it this weekend. Krylon satin black! After searching for quite a while I was happy to find the pouch that did not need to be altered in any way. makes thing a lot easier.
  6. here is the pouch I ordered and reeived today from http://www.ima-usa.c...wwii-green.html I still have to paint it black but from the reference pics I have seen this matches requirements.
  7. Awesome! Thanks for the thumbs up!!! Dirt coming shortly
  8. weird, I just clicked on the link and it took me straight to the pouches.
  9. Just ordered pouches from IMA's they come in a set. I noticed that the pouches for the belt are of a different design than what is offered in the set from IMA will the three pouch from IMA be acceptable and approvable? The link for the pouches is: http://www.ima-usa.com/german-mp-40-magazine-pouch-set-wwii-green.html
  10. That works. I have a lot of work ahead of me just putting the armor together. No rush on the pouches and saving myself time and extra work seems like a pretty grand idea.
  11. Where did you order your pouches from. I will need three. Just the one with the small tool pouch. Thanks for the recommendation !
  12. Ya that makes sense. Just tighten it up so it sits closer to the outside pouch. I can do that! Gonna order them tomorrow. Need two for the belt and then the shoulder pouches. So I only have to tighten up just the one pouch.
  13. Pictures of the completed helmet. After the pics were taken I did paint the brass screws. I welcome all feedback! This is an ATA Helmet. My first helmet I ever put together. Thanks to Panda Trooper for the Tutorial!
  14. fabulous!!! I suppose I can relocate the small pouch with no problem. I am assuming that you mean it must be lowered a bit to match up with the bottom of the larger pouches. I'm good Juan! Really stoked to get my armor finished and weathered so I can submit for membership. I just got my pauldron ordered from Trooper 1 so this is moving in the right direction.
  15. I found these pouches while digging around on the internet. Would they be acceptable once dyed or painted? The link is attached below. Thanks! http://www.northridgeinc.com/store/index.cfm/c52/i630
  16. I finished my helmet this weekend minus the screen that needs to be put in. Obviously no weathering yet but it is awesome to have one piece more or less done
  17. As I finish pieces I will certainly post pics! Slow and steady is most certainly the way for doing this build! My hope is to have the build done by C6. If not well I suppose that is ok. Would like to have my first troop at C6 but I will have to wait and see how the build goes. Got a pack on order from dirty boy and the pauldron on order from Trooper1.
  18. Hey All, Just a quick intro for myself! Name is Sheldon aka "Archangel" Im here in Michigan starting my TD build. Got the ATA Kit and stoked to get started! I have been trooping for the past nine years and finally decided to go "Dirty" Trooping with the Great Lakes Garrison and looking forward to becoming a member with MEPD, God Willing! Any recommendations where to start with this build? My thoughts were to start on non strapped elements such as the gauntlets, calves...
  19. Good to see this thread. I just purchased an ATA kit. I like the detail.
