Heres a pic of one of my 100% authentic ANH Hero Stormtroopers with all the parts laid out.
Every single armor component was molded directly from a screen-used hero helmet and armor, as well as all the fabric components.
All the hardware was matched to the vintage specs and the boots are vintage originals.
It is as accurate as a trooper costume can actually be without owning an original. I dont know what could be improved on it at this point.
Ive had this for quite awhile now but just havent had the time to work on any personal projects.
Ill also be putting together a sandtrooper alongside this one and will post up pics of the builds as I make progress.

You're right. I had to do some bump counting on the forearms. Clearly my memory failed me.
No prob.
We don't have a set price yet, but yes at this point in time we plan to include a complete trooper including helmet, armor, boots, gloves, body suit, neck seal, holster, etc...
We're still working out the logistics of having a custom mannequin option at this point.

They have two right biceps and two right forearms.
The suit they have did not come with left biceps and forearms.
None of the efx parts were fabricated with the exception of the hand plates.
Like I said I'm not bashing the RS guys.
If u were to ask them, they would confirm everything I've said above.

EFX STORMTROOPER ANH HERO ARMOR LEGEND EDITION
Yes, you read that correctly. No it's not a typo.
For the first time in history, EFX is doing what no officially licensed company has ever been able to do - produce Stormtrooper helmets and armor made in ABS just like the screen-used originals.
Take a quick breath….
And what was the basis for this armor? Where did it come from?
It just so happens that the original screen-used helmet we used to create the Legend Edition Stormtrooper Hero helmet also came with FULL AND COMPLETE ARMOR AND ACCESSORIES!
To the best of my knowledge, this is the ONLY fully complete Stormtrooper from Star Wars: A New Hope in existence.
While some do exist in private hands as well as the Lucasfilm Archives, none of them are fully complete with all the accessories.
Here is a comp showing the original screen-used suit on the left and some of the instances it appears in the film on the right:

Every…component. Every one.
All the fabric based components were accurately patterned and recreated as well.
For most people, the very first time they have every laid eyes on an original body suit and neck seal. Just utterly incredible that these are still in existence and available to EFX.
Many including myself never thought that a day would come where we would be able to own a Stormtrooper suit as perfect and accurate as this.
It is as close as you can possibly come to owning an original.
It really is a dream come true.
Behold the STORMTROOPER in all it's beautiful glory as originally intended!

Hey guys, I just saw this thread and was reading the comments and was shocked at some of the posts.
I'm here to answer some of the concerns, questions, or misconceptions surrounding this suit.
I'll try to answer questions as best I can.
In the meantime, here are some facts about the EFX armor just to avoid any confusion.
The prototype suit was made in unpainted glossy HIPS, but the production run will be in the correct ABS.
The original suit is complete (with the exception of the hand plates which were crust on the gloves, and one of the belt rivet covers).
It is the only suit in known existence (even in the LFL archives) that is fully complete with original body suit, neck seal, thigh belt, and gloves.
There seemed to be some doubt/questioning about whether or not this armor was unequivocally the most accurate set ever made.
It most definitely is, and I'd be happy to explain why that is the case.
Not only that, but it is going to be made available to everyone!
Every piece was molded from the interior which gave us the ability to vac form very accurately each of the components.
Something that no one has ever been able to do before.
Also, on the prototype shown at SDCC was barely finished in time for the show.
So much so that I didn't get to complete the shoulder bells in time to ship.
So instead of having the display incomplete without shoulders, I used a set of my rotj shoulders as a stand in.
No worries though, the screen used shoulders will definitely be part of the final suit.
Someone referenced the RS suit so let me break it down for you.
Of course the RS guys molded an original suit. But their suit was missing the following armor components:
- shoulder connectors
- left bicept
- left forearm
- abdomen plates
- sniper knee
These are the areas of their suit that they did not take molds of from the inside.
And thus were scratch built.
- shoulder connectors
- abdomen plates
- thermal detonator plate and end caps
- main belt
- main belt rivet covers
- knee belt
- belt drop boxes
- sniper knee
Keep in mind that I am not bashing the RS guys. I consider them friends and it's uncontested that up to this point they had the most accurate ANH suit offering in all of fandom.
Not only that, but the original suit we had also came with the original gloves, body suit (which has specific details all in it's own), neck seal, and thigh belt.
However these are just the facts.
This is what makes this so special as it is an unprecedented offering.
It's what we've always wanted actually made available for the first time ever!
However since it is being sold as a prop and not a costume, it will not be available in sizes. It will be exactly the same size as the film suits.
Hopefully that covers the bulk of the misunderstandings.
If you have any questions, post them here and I'll try to field them as best I can.

Actually when you think about it, for a top of the line suit like an RS, if you buy one fully built up and then go tracking down all the accessories, you're not that far off from our ballpark pricing estimate.
And since it is going to be made in high quality ABS, it should be at the very least just as durable as the fan made stuff (except for the old super thick FX style that's done in .125 or .090 styrene).
Then again, the original suits as well as the current high end fan made are equally as susceptible to damage just from normal trooping as long as the fan made were made in ABS like the originals.
ABS is more flexible and less prone to cracking/splitting than HIPS.

Without giving away any special techniques or proprietary info, I can tell you that none of the pieces were molded from the outside and then sharpened. You are seeing parts made from interior surface details.

Here's an x-wing helmet compilation I put together to illustrate the different styles used in the films.
I'm sure that not all of them are accounted for in this comp, but it should have most of the important ones represented.
Hope it's helpful for those who aren't x-wingnuts. :lol

What are you going to be using for the rears tamks on the AT-AT lid?
Haven't got that far. It's definitely going to be a challenge getting all those parts. I have some, but a long way from all of them.
I know a lot of you are already familiar with what differentiates a hero TIE helmet from a standard TIE helmet, but for those who aren't, here is a quick at-a-glance comp.
As far as I know there are 3 distinct hero helmets made for ANH. They started out as standard (background) helmets but were detailed and weathered for close up cockpit shots.
Every helmet I've seen in the film has the one metal greebly on each ear and that's it.
PS, there was footage shot for ANH of the standard TIE pilots running down the death star hallways and the hero TIE pilots in the cockpit that were used in ROTJ. All the TIE helmets were made for the ANH production, none were made for subsequent films.

The visor is sort of retractable. It fits snugly into the helmet so you can just push it up or pull it down.
That's how the original ones were for the films.
There is no elaborate track system or anything like that.
Is the visor on the X-wing helmet retractable?

Almost finished.
Made in the correct color, gloss and thickness of ABS.
Still need to get decals made and tint the visor.
For the x-wing helmets, I plan to do a couple versions of x-wing helmet including both hero and background style.
For the Tie helmets, I plan to do a hero, background, and of course the AT-AT pilot (one of my all time favorites).

Thanks guys! I'll try to keep progress pics coming. I'd like to do some comparison pics with a couple other armor kits for posterity before I start assembling. Plenty of sandy parts to work on in the meantime.
