Congratulations Simon!!!

Hi Vince,
I agree with you on several things about the weathering but I wouldn't be too picky.
In my opinion Manny has done great job so far and few little tweaks might be required to be top notch (Manny be patient) eventhough that will be just for his own pride.
As far as I remember the SWAT approval is still based on the old requirements.
I haven't seen the Bapty and the Black boots dyed white becoming mandatory for SWAT the debate is still open though.
If was so I'd say that ALL the old SWATs approved should re-do their "Calvary" to be deployed again and show the improvements as well. -
-
I'd say that are good enough to be cleared but due the bottom side you won't be able to get the SWAT status.
-
Love it! the weathering is spot on!!!
Only one little thing that I would change is the little scratch/crack under the left cheek.

Stand-by... -
The guy was was used to work for Lucasfilm.
A friend of mine told me that as he'll finish the project is going to approach Disney to release it and it won't be a SE edition
"He has done a better job than the guys did with the blue rays and SEs" *cit -
I double checked they seem fine here

For anyone interested in the Star Wars, 4k, Technicolor restoration process:
UPDATED LINK
From the Artist (Mike Verta):
"Like a lot of you, the original Star Wars is why I became an artist. For
many years I've been restoring it in full 16-bit, 4K anamorphic, with
members of the original VFX crew consulting. My goal is not to improve the
original film or its effects, but to restore them to their 1977 glory. I
have a Vimeo channel with before and after clips on it here:
https://vimeo.com/channels/starwarslegacy
It is a passion project for posterity, nothing more, and extremely
slow-going, but the results are Star Wars at a quality that has never been
seen before, save perhaps at ILM in 1976. It is also a one-man show,
and I've gone through about 4,000 mice and trackballs, so I'm looking for
colleagues who might like to help with such sexy tasks as stabilization and
clean-up. If you are inspired by the clips above, please don't hesitate to
reach out!" -
Backpack was dropped during the main exibition (we left it at the Tatooine set) because there were soo many visitors and children around us.
It happened in past time that Sandtroopers, with Big Guns and Backpacks on, sometimes hit a visitor while moving or turning without notice it. (also our imperial helmet is a real pain when we have to chech something small - like an enthusiastic child - wo is in front of you or at your side and You need to turn or move).
So, this time, it was a choice to not have the backpacks on. They can be seen on the pictures of the Tatooine photo-set, on the ground.
I'm working now on a new backpack that will be more screen accurate than the one I'm currently using.
That is what spotters are for!
We used to troop with a couple of spotters per squad not just for kids but quite often to protect our costumes from over excited adults!
Spotter should be warned about the risks the their fellow troopers are going through in these places.
We also follow some basic rules in overcrowded places..
like don't leave anyone move or pass behind you (this is a basic one useful under the showers)..so shoulder close to the walls!!

Bellissime!
:pinch:
Awesome!we should come to you guys to attend one of these events it would be a nice cultural exchange.
Only one thing I don't get why you guys haven't used the packpacks, in this way you're gonna spoil the beauty of the whole costume. Here we're used to elbowing a lot to get the most screen accurate backpack and also to don't look like pauldroned TKs

A bunch of alien slaves...

Astonishing job here Rick!
I've seen the armour in the "flesh" the last week end and the weathering is spot on from every angle.
I liked the overall build, the strapping, the backpack and loved the helmet to death. All your dedication and efforts are going to be rewarded at light speed!

If you can work something out, I will definitely be in for one.
Saludos.
I will matey
I'd be in for 20 or so depending on price
I'll check if they can supply us a large amount of canteens.
Italians are always keen to lower prices and I know how to deal with them.
As I said it will be better find their supplier which would turn in a better deal.
Stay tuned I''ll PM you
-
I'll be in Italy the next month, I could talk with the guys for a single shipment to my parents place and then shipping them when I'll be back in UK.
I also believe that the place is just a re seller an not the original factory which might offer a cheaper solution. -
I have been contacted by the Distributor of the Canteens 600ml similar to the GioStyle Safari ones.
Soon will be available for everyone. -
Well done Ricky!
If you're rubbing the silver with a rag I would go a bit more on the muzzle and cylindrical shapes with and horizontal movement in order to break the shapes/scratches on the gun.
If you wanna do an extra effort I would paint black the t-tracks and the grip with t more glossy black one.

Paola is my wife's name too ^_^

Congratulations both guys!!!
May your new family be your best build ever! -
Hi Rick,
There're no restircted rules about the weathering but on the stock, that has to be Bakelite rather than wood looking
here some reading and pics

and here some refsalso as you can see some parts come with a slightly brownish colour others like the grip in glossy black.
Have fun and looking forward to seeing the work in progress.

Hi Noel the guys in San Francisco just sent a req to the Anti-Piracy group to investigate.
I have a 10yo niece and a brother with genetic disorders and I know well how much the charities around the world can make a huge difference supporting research and care.
