  1. I couldn't tell how blue it was when I was taking the pic outside (that's how colorblind I am)...but I could tell a difference once I saw the picture. I dunno. To me it looks really gray in person but to a few other people I showed to outside today they told me they could see the blue with hints of gray in it. I'm debating on trying to track down a can or two of Rustoleum Lake Blue as suggested by Dirty Boy
  2. ok...here's a picture of the color I used (Rustoleum Satin Slate Blue) out in direct sunlight today. And here is what the color looks like indoors or in artificial light You can really see the blue in the sunlight. What should I do? Repaint w/ a different color? Keep what I have? It's really amazing how the blue comes out nicely in the natural sunlight rather than indoors. Does anyone else notice this on their backpacks?
  3. i haven't done it yet but i'm trying to think of a way to build a light "blaster" case that is lined with foam and custom cut to fit the T21 (Lewis) and possibly a small case built to carry my E-11
  4. That would be awesome. I'm just not satisfied w/ this Satin Slate Blue color. It's too gray for me. Also, can I see a pic of your pack to get an idea as to what Lake Blue looks like?
  5. Thanks. Home Depot is actually where I picked up this color. I think I may have to order that Lake Blue color if I can't get a good consensus on the current color I'm using. I just want my pack to look as close as I can get it
  6. Here's the can of Rustoleum Satin Slate Blue that I am using. And although it's another picture taken inside...here's another taken from inside. I'll bring them outside tomorrow and will take a picture for you to give me your feedback. I am actually colorblind with certain shades of blues and a few other colors. So honestly I'm having a hard time seeing the best color choice to use. My wife says she can see the blue w/ gray tints.
  7. Mike over at Trooperbay.com is awesome. Check out his lenses. It's what I have in my bucket
  8. I can't obtain Humbrol anywhere locally. Here is a pic of some of my parts painted w/ Rustoleum Satin Slate. I'm debating what to do. I'm worried they'll look too gray? In person you can see a small tint of blue in them. What you think? Should I find something else?
  9. I've been looking for the paint for the past few months here in South Carolina and finally found what was listed at the beginning of this topic as the 2nd best choice. I purchased the Rustoleun Satin Slate. It went on nicely but seems to have more of a gray-ish tint than blue to it? Has anyone used this color? I almost bought the Krylon Peekaboo Blue but it seemed to blue to me. I'm going to "dirty" the backpack anyhow....but i still want my parts to look good painted. I primed the seed trays and bottles in a regular gray primer first before doing the Satin Slate.
  10. Thanks for all the positive feedback. It's been a fun build but I'm ready to be done with it. Unfortunately I won't be able to work on it anymore until Friday of this week. Hopefully i can get the rest of my Bondo work done in the barrel tip as well as attach another site and then hopefully I can at least get the blaster primed. Sorry I haven't gone into too much detail w/ my pics. I figured you can get a good idea by what I did plus there are some great tutorials on this forum. But if anybody has any questions...feel free to ask me. It's not a perfect build but it'll suffice my appetite for wanting a T21 to troop with.
  11. @iron ram - Thanks for the tip about the back stop for the drum. I may trim it down a little before paint. Not sure. I thought in another build thread I saw it sitting up a little higher like I have it. I could go either way. Here's another pic from a few months ago of me holding the blaster. I'll get more pics up soon.
  12. Been working on my blaster since August 2011. I put it on hold for 2-3 months but am now getting in the home stretch before it's time to be painted. I'm not going to go through the entire process step-by-step...but I used a combo of Pandatrooper's tutorial along with some pieces I fabricated myself by referencing pictures and recreating them using AutoCAD. Let me know what you think so far....
  13. I've been working on my helmet, T21, backpack & pouches for the past 6 months or more. Still saving up to purchase the rest of the armor. I love this forum. It really helps. Especially when trying to reference stuff for my backpack and T21 blaster
