  1. Here are a few more pics I had taken that day (a left and right). Since the pics, I have shortened/tightened the elastic strapping that holds the shoulder bells in place. The backpack strapping was pulling back on it pretty bad. The problem is fixed now . Also, If you notice in my left pic, the beestinger is too far back under the pack and actually rubs against my butt armor. This is old news but thought I would point it out . I've since fixed this problem by removing it and making a swivel from the bottom of a 2 qt tupperware pitcher, a bolt and a nut. I will post a pic of the beestinger/swivel when I get back to work. My pack is currently there in storage. I also posted a pic of my AP helmet interior to give fellow TDs some ideas.... I used some left over ACH helmet padding for the interior of my AP helmet. I'm not sure if you can purchase it but here is a pic of what it looks like in an ACH helmet...if your interested do a google search for ACH helmet or ACH helmet padding. It's applied to the helmet with velcro "circles".
  2. I added a piece of foam to the inner bottom of my ankle. It seemed to correct the problem I was having and it actually gave the calf armor a "straighter" appearance . TM...as for pics, it's at work in my storage tub . Maybe someone else can post a few pics side by side of their AP calves...
  3. I think they look really great Doug . Looks like you put a lot of time into getting them as accurate as the pics, great job .
  4. E6000 - 1st choice Devcon plastic welder - second choice
  5. I have to agree with Mike on this one TM. I really don't think I assembled it wrong. They both appear to be the same (either rights or lefts ). I only have foam padding on one of the sides. I will try putting it on both but I think I may have trouble closing it if I do. My calves are slightly larger than then norm. I think the velcro idea might just work. I pondered that idea but was worried about the lycra undersuit fraying up. Thanks for the help guys!
  6. My left calf armor seems to turn outward after a few minutes of wearing/walking in it. I added foam to the inside to make it more snug but it doesn't seem to be working. Perhaps I need to add more. Does anyone have any ideas on correcting this issue? I'd hate to have kids pointing at my leg at an event "daddy, daddy his leg is twisted! "
  7. I drilled my tips out and glued them on with a big dab of devcon. I used TD-1536's website tutorial to mount speakers in the helmets.
  8. I would go with warm hardwood, carpetless is nice
  9. Would soaking them in acetone first help to get the dye to take? I know the Boba Fett folks do that with the horsehair girth belts prior to Rit dying them burgandy (ROTJ) or brown (ESB)...
  10. There's a "search" link at the top right of the screen. It does wonders!
  11. They must run a little big. The pair I bought fit kind of loose on the top part of my foot. I added an additional set of insoles to make them more snug. I haven't had any trouble getting in or out of them .
  12. I did that with my current AP helmet. I like it alot better than hot glue. It allows quite a bit of airflow around the lenses and they don't fog up at all. I used the industrial strength .
  13. www.starwars.com only mentions orange, white and black paulrons FYI...
  14. Walmart carries E6000. It's in the craft area. Michael's carries it too.
