  1. Found authentic grips on ebay... http://cgi.ebay.com/WW2-GERMAN-MG34-alu ... dZViewItem
  2. Do you know how long your tour will be or which camp you will be at in Iraq? I was over in Apr 03 to Mar 04 (it sucks being away from family). I heard things have improved for the troops somewhat since then (more paved roads, billets instead of tents, etc) not that it makes the situation any better...anywho, good luck to you and godspeed! Remember...drink water (you get sick of hearing that ) LOL Harry harry.shipman@us.army.mil
  3. My 5 yr old asked for a T21 and Pack throughout the duration of my projects, so once I had them done I decided to make him happy. I threw a kid sized pack together with virtually "crap" from the garage and some tuperware. I added a red flashing LED light with a toggle switch to the bottom left box that was left over too. I used PVC to make the frame of his pack. The entire thing is held together (very securely) with zip ties. I used a piece of nylon strap to make the should straps, though you can't see it in the pics. The T-21 was leftover pine board and pvc from my T-21 project. I put a ruler in the first pic so you can get an idea of their sizes. I guess you can figure out what he'll be for halloween!
  4. Is trooperdecals the best place to get a set of decals for a GF bucket? I can't seem to find them anywhere else? If so, will they fit as is or do they have to be adjusted to fit on the helmet (all 13 stripes)?
  5. I used a handicapped sign that I purchased from Home Depot for $5. I wanted it to stand out so I used 8 layers! Once it was glued and sanded, I used white wood filler to ensure that the sides were all smooth. Afterward, I put 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of krylon fushion gloss white on it. I used a dremel to put imperfections on it prior to painting. What do you guys think?
  6. While saving up money for armor, I decided to make my backpack from scratch. Unfortunately, during the duration of this project I was unaware of sandtrooper.net. I used DVD screen shots and info from TK409’s site. At any rate, me thinks the radar dish is at least accurate! It will be dirty up after I get my armor...What do you guys think (please be kind, I know it's not "movie" accurate)? Thanks to my buddy Ralph for being the model!
  7. To save up money for armor, I decided to make a T-21 from scratch. Unfortunately, during the duration of this project I was unaware of sandtrooper.net. I used DVD screen shots and info from TK409’s site. The measurements of my T-21 (stock, receiver and barrel) are exact to the ones provided on TK409’s site. The stock and receiver are made from three 1/2" pine boards (glued and screwed). I used flat black and silver metallic on the receiver. I used brass metallic and a light coat of flat black on the barrel. The barrel is PVC. I found a "red" leather strap at Tractor Farm Supply which I roughed up with my mouse sander and spray painted a sand color. I used o-rings on the barrel. The "fins" between the receiver and barrel are pieces of molding that I cut on angles with my miter saw and fit into place. The stock was mounted to the receiver by using a hole saw, a PVC connector and liquid nails. I have a friend that is a licensed arms dealer. He was able to come across a real Lewis for $800. I had to turn down the offer due to saving up for my armor. If anyone is interested, PM me and I’ll provide his contact info. What do you guys think (please be kind, I know it's not "movie" accurate like a real Lewis!)? Thanks to my buddy Ralph for being the model!
