  1. Thanks everyone! Time to get busy!
  2. Thanks, Seth! Ok, gotta ask. When would you use one over the other? Any warping worries with either? I've used Devcon once on my Capricorn Armor IG helmet which was ABS, but I'm a bit worried about using it (and anything else for that matter) on TE2 HIPS. And yeah, Devcon does stink!!! Much appreciated!!
  3. Since we're talking TE2 assembly, what would you recommend to be the best glue to put it all together?
  4. Thanks guys! I'm thrilled as you might imagine! And look what came in today!
  5. What I've been smiling about since yesterday : The TE2 armor is beautiful! I now see what all the hubbub is about! And my sincerest thanks to TE2 for his workmanship, generosity, and friendship. Top notch!! The bucket is to replace my FX TK helmet. I have another TE2 bucket coming to be used with this armor in a TD configuration. So say a few prayers for me as I begin this journey. My wife looked at it and just couldn't grasp the notion of why this is more meaningful to me than my FX. Nevertheless, I love her for letting me have it. Here's to the women in our lives that put up with us!
  6. This nonfunctioning bipod was an afterthought when I built my MG-34 (still a work in progress). I took leftover 1/2" PVC pipe, sliced it down the middle, and used a heat gun to deform the "feet". I cut 3 small sections of a wooden dowel to separate and connect the two halves. I screwed this assembled piece to a small section of 1/2" PVC. Really cheap to make as I had everything I needed.
  7. Yes! I will definitely be looking for one in the near future!
  8. I have a PM that I sent on Monday morning, but it's just sitting in my Outbox and hasn't made it to the Sent box. Any idea why that's happening? I assume that means the recipient did not receive the message. Thanks!
  9. Apparently, I'm entering into this conversation a bit late, but hopefully not too late to add my 2 credits. In June, I surfed to sandtrooper.net looking for something in particular, but I don't remember what that was . But I quickly discovered far more than what I was looking for, in short, the best darn group of folks I've encountered in the 501st. The willingness to share and the support was inspiring. The comradery was touching. I wasted no time in joining and found myself spending more time lurking here than anywhere else. I only wish I had something to contribute (although I'm hoping to finish up my scratch-built MG-34 very soon. When it's done, I'll post pictures.). That's the thing. This group makes me want to share! And, most importantly, you guys made made me want to go TD...not to convert my FX suit, but to go whole hog. I'm now on the waiting list for TE2 armor. Gosh, I love my wife. So although we've hit a few bumps in the road recently, I gotta say this group just plain rocks. 'Nuff said.
  10. If anyone's building an MG-34, I found this in the Sportsman's Guide: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=259626
  11. I agree! I bought my pair of seconds in 2002, trooped dozens of events including parades, and they're still in great condition.
  12. Anybody know what these are called (what type of ammo goes in them)? http://www.sandtrooper.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1011
  13. Hey there! Rob Rak (TK-158) from the Connecticut Garrison. I built a backpack and have a black pauldron. I also have one ammo pouch for my left shoulder, but I just sent out a check for some Norwegian ammo pouches. Been a clean TK for over three years, but looking to go dirty. Before I take the plunge on modifying my FX armor, I was hoping to look at pricing on the TE2 stuff. Trooped with some of you guys at the Spike TV Video Game Awards (which was a blast!).
