  1. My wife would like the laptop back, but I WILL NOT GIVE IT UP! *refresh / *refresh / *refresh.... :pint1: :pint1:
  2. Oscar, Don't hit your head man, your modifications look great, we just really like Rosco dude. Not taking away from all you did. Hey, does he have a trading card? I want a signed one if he does.
  3. Thanks Cal, welcome to the team as well. The chest worked OK for me, but just couldn't get the volume up enough, without feedback. Just another way to mount it.
  4. Frank, Glad it worked. When you compare yours to the screen shots you have, it looks very close and accurate now (IMHO). Great build. An I love the 'wash me' that is classic. Let us know if you need any additional help brother. looking forward to seeing you in the sand pit, very soon. Great commitment and attitude sir.
  5. @Joe, Thank you sir, but the credit is shared: TD-4749 (RETNUHHA) is my partner and had a lot to do with perfecting the build.
  6. Juan, you are killing me brother. I have to make #18, it will make me legal...LOL. :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:
  7. Hey, I like Rosco, leave him alone. Don't pick on the little guys.
  8. Frank, try this sir, sorry about that. No idea what happened. Hope they help explain better: http://s1134.beta.ph...uild SDS Armor"
  9. OK, so we are going to offer these for anyone interested. I am going to move this to the 'For Sale' area. Thanks for the support. Here is the final version. We used truck bed paint to do the rods. It also gives it a matte and sandpaper feel (very textured). We switched to an aluminum tube, which made them much more realistic without the weight issues. It is much more stable. We are going to also offer them in a kit or without the buzzer, to make them more accessible due to cost. There are also so many great builders here,we wanted to make sure they could modify or paint them the way they want too. What do you think?
  10. Thank you gentlemen. Coming from you two, that says a lot for me. Would you like me to bombard Juan with spam email, PMs, texts? Just kidding, the man works for a living. And I know he has a hard/demanding job. Sit, and don't move along. Don't move along. Sorry, poor humor. Happy to just wait and not rip something on my armor up right now.
  11. Frank, So glad I read your post about converting to TD first. I was about to make a comment about the Empire sending a TK to do a TD's job. The droid WE are looking for is MUCH bigger, silly TK. Just kidding brother, that was funny. Daughter got a kick out of that too.
  12. Frank, Great to see another brother come to the dirty side. You have done a great job in your mods too. Nice to have you aboard sir. You will be deployed in no time. I love your commitment. I really wish you luck, but that is more about keeping your sanity then getting deployed, because you have a great build brother. I think your weathering is great! I agree with ROLF, but don't think you should take it all off and start over. Depending on what you used, you can use a warm damp rag and lightly take a small top layer off or a little sand paper. Great part about being a sandtrooper. The more you jack it up, the better it looks. Like you said (thrown together). I also think I would only touch the top right AB and blast on your chest. Love the new look in the ridges from ROLF's advice. You did great. Your strips are fine for deployment, but may give you grief down the road for SWAT. I had the same issue. If you look at my SWAT request it has a link to my Photobucket account and you can see how I redid my strips to be more accurate. http://s1134.beta.ph... SDS Armor You can leave your current ones, they are your perfect fit. If you are brave enough to bondo and shape over them, you can then add new strips thinner. However, I learned the hard way to get more than one opinion before you rip anything up. My best advice is to keep doing what you are with looking for a screen shot to show you what is accurate. There is a lot of knowledge here, don't get me wrong. Like Nick said, if it looks right, it doesn't matter. On your weapons you can mix and match whatever you want when trooping. If it is an official LF event, just bring that one. Otherwise you should be fine. I troop with a Dewback Prod all the time and did a Move Along Captain. My garrison rarely lets us use weapons, but never cares about the prod. And it gets a lot of attention. On your shoulder pouch here is an idea (what I did). I think it is what Smally was saying, but not sure. It keeps it in place and easy to take off. I used elastic, but regular webbing straps would work too. The I used #7 snaps. I never feel them when trooping either. It puts the pouch right through the shoulder and chest plate. If your pouches are at an angle in back like mine, it also gives it that tilted look.
  13. Oscar, Me encantan tus figuras.
  14. Update: Re-weather #3. Original was Burnt Umber acrylic paint, watered down oil and Nevada sand. I have now trooped in it many times, giving it a better 'worn' look. I also added another layer of light burnt umber and some additional spots. The AB and chest were especially light compared to the rest of the armor. Helmet with less weathering, as seen on screen. Tried to use a better camera to get the details and less of a washed out look then before. Also left flash off to help, only natural sun. It still appears much darker and dirtier in person, but think the close ups catch the details better. Please ignore the blue clamp, during weathering I broke the shoulder strap off my left shoulder and had to E-6000 again (still drying). Thank you Mike for your time sir. I look forward to your review. And thanks for the kudos on the stripes, they were a pain, but well worth it in the end. Have a great day.
  15. @ Frank, lol, I tried that once, yep bad idea. @ Mike, thanks boss. I think I stole the idea from you if I remember correctly.
  16. Thanks Daniel. I appreciate you help and push to get it right. I like them much better.
  17. Thanks guys. I had mine in my chest as well, but could not get it loud enough without feedback. Just one idea. Thanks.
  18. Why would I do that to such awesome pouches? There is a method to my madness... And why did I do it? Because I was tired of people not hearing me and seeing TKs with this non-cannon black box on their belts for their Aker Amp and iCom System. Here is my solution: Sounds AWESOME! And hidden well. So I have to give a shout out to Brad Bucholtz for producing these great pouches. The way he constructed them and how stiff they are made it easy to do. Thank you brother! Just one troopers solution. Hope it helps someone.
  19. Jason, I am selling them if you want a figure. Still trying to get a website with ordering done, but you can send a PM sir. It takes a lot of time and detail to get them just right and all the paint off. Chemicals just will not work. Sorry brother.
  20. I know the way the tube angles and stripes are curved made the front look smaller and middle bigger, so I took it from another angle. They are all equal. Hope that helps:
  21. @ Daniel, As long as I didn't mess anything up and offend. Thanks brother, looking forward to our next instruction. Update: Ok, cleaned up pencil marks and re-weathered striped on Left:
  22. @ Vince, Not sure what you mean brother? On your 2/7 post here, you called it correct. The Move Along bucket from Christie's Auction has 13 on the right and 16 on the left. Just as mine does now. I have never found a screen shot that can be counted, maybe someone has one, but it matches the auction bucket now. In the interest of harmony, I just went ahead and did it. I think SWAT has gone beyond screen accurate now. But that is what this evolving process is about. But have no fear, no more mods until Mike says something needs to change. I appreciate it though, I think you called it right and I love the new look. @ Pete, Thanks brother. I appreciate it. Hope to be in your ranks someday. Come to far to back off it now. Man your SWAT post was beautiful, very happy for you too. Nice build and details. Hope I got that right. (English translation) Daniel, Thank you for taking the time to draw the picture of what you meant. It was very thoughtful. Sometimes people say something needs to be fixed and don't provide good references or explanations. Yours was perfect. I understood what you meant when we talked on the phone the other night, so just tried it. You were absolutely correct. Don't worry about jumping on the post after I fixed it. I am going to add those pictures anyway. I think it might help someone else in the future. Thanks again for the assistance and attention. Now go get some sleep, it is late in Germany, and kiss those kids goodnight. Talk soon. Not for my request, but to help anyone in the future (courtesy of Daniel):
  23. Update: Third time WAS the charm. Daniel, thank you for the advice. Worked like a charm. Now to dry, clean up edges and re weather. First thing in the AM, oh wait, it IS the AM...And I love the uneven hand painted look. Matches the tears now. Left tube stripes (16) and even space/size:
