  1. Sweet....Once I actually get a pack that Im able to keep...lol...im going to set up a system like that :)

    For mine I used a pair of speakers behind the backpack (facing backwards between the upper and lower boxes, not visible). They are made for use with an MP3 or iPod. The wiring then runs up the backpack straps into the MP-40 shoulder pouch. In there is the MP3 player. The speakers were $7 and the 2Gig MP3 player was about $12. It was a very cheap upgrade and it adds a new layer of depth to the character.

    Head to a discount store, you can often get really cheap MP3 players and speaker sets at them.

  2. Yeah I am going to make the weathering on the helm kinda light :)

    Another touch to add some realism (tho probably not screen accuracy) is to do a heavier weathering on the top of the helmet. I have collected a lot of real military helmets over the years, and this is always the case. Soldiers usually put their helmet down on the ground (or table or whatever) upside down when they take it off (it lets the heat buildup out, and is also a more natural movement than flipping it after removal) . This results in heavier weathering on the top of the dome when compared to the rest of the helmet.

  3. While I realize it's far to late to change, I think no pauldron should be private and black pauldron should be assistant squad leader or Corporal. When I was a cadet, pauldrons were only issued to NCOs. You don't need to put a pauldron on the lowest rank. They are easy to recognize as the guys without them.

    Alternatively, they could be used to mark Privates assigned to a specific task. I.E. the Privates in Platoon One wear no pauldrons and those in Platoon Two wear black. Third Platoon wears grey, etc. With this route, white would make sense as assistant squad leader and orange as Sargeant. The problem with orange as Captain is that every third TD in the film seemed to be a Captain. Even as Sargeant, that's a bit of a stretch.

    Darn. I overthought this, didn't I? :blink::P

  5. Hey guys and gals, I have searched everywhere for an HD screen cap to have blowed up to an 8' by 12' background to use for pictures at troops. I have sent PM's to alot of people to no avail. Does ANYONE have the ability to do this? I have a Relay for Life this weekend and wanted to make something to take pics in front of... Would like a cap of maybe the coridor of Mos Eisley, and one of a death star hallway, or entrance way. Can anyone help PLEASE.. Actually ANYTHING will work.

    I THINK this is the right link to a hi-res deathstar hallway pic.

  6. Hi folks,

    I've been in the 501st since 2007, and have now set my sights on the TD. It will be my third costume, I started with a TK and later a TB. I have built my RT-97c with some help from TK-409's great site (I even added a removable stock as it always bugged me that a scoped weapon lacked one), but the backpack has been giving me problems. I am having a really tough time finding parts. But somehow I think this site should solve that. :)

    See you in the forums!

    Chris
