  1. That bucket looks straight off the Imperial assembly line...Still got that new bucket scent...
  2. The AM makes it possible.. Not the most accurate, but I like it, and I can still have the correct size cover strips in the front, and not have crazy oversized strips in the back... Yeah makes perfect sense...sadly thats how I had it the first time around.. I still have those shorter straps.. I go that route again and shorten the strap between the legs just a bit... get this figured out then I can get on to the chest/back... hoping to be bouncing around the dune sea on patrol soon...
  3. Thanks for the support everyone... There have been times when I thought I was doing well only to basically start over -multiple times but its a good feeling to finally see a little bit of it coming together...
  4. Its been a while since I started working on my armor.. Finally I have gottent to the point where I got to do a test fit.... Having some issues getting the butt-plate to sit right it. Im thinking that its coming from the strap that connects the butt-plate to the groin... It was too short the first try and that pulled the top out, then the last one was too long and it let the bottom of it droop...
  5. I thought that all the pics I had seen looked a lot bigger than 7/16.. That must be the measurement for regular TK which is what size came with my kit. If you or anyone can get me the correct size I will get to reworking this part...
  6. I wanted to make sure before I put this on my ab-plate. It seems that the proper size is 7/16 and trying to plan ahead there needs to just be the 3 and not 4 correct?
  7. Well my first set of pouches arrived yesterday. Guess I need to dye these black is there a preffered dye everyone suggests or will any old dye be fine...These even came complete with the musty smell, talk about authentic reproductions HAHAHAHHA.. Going to have to work on gettting rid of that.. Its pretty bad... I have some spare leather lying around I was goign to try and build one of the leather 3 slots based on the size of the other w/o the tool pack.. That is if they are the same size? What do you guys think? THanks
  8. I had bought my soft belt from over on the FISD so I have a very clean white belt.. guess if real dirt works.. I can just drop it in the garage wile I am working and kick it around/step on etc. and do the same for the chest straps then....
  9. Well Im nearing the point to wher I need to start thinking seriously about weathering. I have read the posts and watched the videos. Im feeling OK on weathering the armor. However, I am a little concerned about the soft belt part and the straps between the chest and back plates. I havent seen but a post or so on this subject. I wanted to know is it realy as simple as putting some coffee grounds in some water, then pouring it all over them and letting them set overnight?
  10. I know I hate trying to post a question without the pics to back it up... A picture really is worth a 1000 words...Its already been trimmed down. Till I get this USB working again a very poor MS-paint will have to hopefully work.. Plesae pardon the artwork... Im sure that my daughter could have done a much better job with crayons.. But as I said hopefully it gets the point across.... Thanks for the help
  11. Well I need a little help.. I have already fitted to size and I am ready to put the back cover strips on. Thats where the problem is. Where the thighs come together they are not even close to being flat enough to put the stip on. They form more of a point ^ I really wish I could load the picture I took to try and better explain this, but my USB port isnt wanting to help at the moment..Should I try a little careful heat gun to lessen it a little?
  12. E6000 can also be found at Wal-Mart its usually a buck or two cheaper than the hobby stores. I havent seen anyone else add it on here yet for you.. But if you can land some rare-earth magnets they are great for clamping. Especially on the shins and thighs where regular clamps dont quite reach the middle... I know they have helped me a lot as a noob-builder...
  13. Hard to believe after all that time.. Just needed to use another email to get in...Oh well in now.. thats what matters.. Since I am not as familiar with this site as I am with FISD, is there a specific place to post build threads? I havent seem to run across one yet... Not sure where I should start putting stuff up for my build..
  14. Hey everyone... After some serious technical difficulties getting registered we finally found a "patch" that worked and now I am in.. My name is Kirby I am a cadet with Garrison Carida. Several of you may already know me at least to a small degree from FISD. I was working on an AM -TK, that was until I got the chance to have trooper1 give me a little help on Sunday. It didnt really take all that long before I was convinced to convert to a TD... If I can manage to fnid my way to where the build sections are I will start putting pics up as I get things done.. I already have my backpack on order. I will finish working on my E11 until I get a T21 built/bought... I hope that I can not only get approved for my legion membership but to see if I can get deployment and SWAT status at some point also. Guess my next big project will be figuring what specific one to go for so I will know pauldron/pouches to get. Its time for a whole new game plan... Glad to be here.....
