FINISHING
the final step is to bring out the BLING!! in the paint work, and protect it from wheater
1. spray the piece whit the hair spray
FYI, some hairsprays will wash off with water. I lightly spray my weathered items with "Matte Finish" spray... it's very durable and won't wash off with water. Gives it that "sandblasted" look too. Lol

My son and I made it on the local (Dallas/ Ft. Worth) NBC Channel 5 news report this past Saturday night.
We're on the video @ 1:02.

Excellent! Most impressive.

As opposed to making one, you might consider the mannequin that Jim (TK6294) sells.

I used Burnt Umber,,, and I've found that you can always lighten it up with a touch of slate grey, if needed.

Lol....ya man it's not comfortable wait til you get the pack on, it's over a hundred degrees out and the parade your trooping in is 4 miles.
Ha! I hear ya Rick... that's how we do it down here in Texas for most of the year!

I stiil have my original "tall" blue Snaggletooth figure from when I was a kid. It came with an exclusive Sears "Cantina" playset that included 4 figures, etc.
It was only available from the Sears Christmas catalog, 1977.

Next time, try spraying it with some Krylon Matte Finish... must easier and it dries very quickly!

PM sent.

I'm really digging the tusk rifle as well.....got any additional pics of it?
Sure... here you go. Thanks for the kudos too... it was fun to make.

I recently trooped an outdoor concert with Star Garrison/ NTX Squad at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens put on by the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. The show was called "Star Wars and Beyond" (they performed music from Star Wars and other Sci-Fi and action movies) with a lazer light show and fireworks.
My son joined us in his new Tusken Raider costume that we just finished making (he's outgrown his Jawa costume).
The 95 degree heat made it very interesting too! lol

Got it....pipe and caps are ready to go.
Excellent! PM sent.

I have something for that as well. I think the pipe runs about $5.00 and can't be too much to ship....maybe 6or7 to ship
Sounds good, pm sent.

Hey brother the thermal det pad can be removed and reattached. I can pick up the tube and ship to you if needed
Rick, that would be awesome!!! Thank you so much brother.
I guess you're right about the TD contol pad... I suppose it would still work with the 2" tube.
Now, what about 2" diameter end caps for it?

Hey guys, my pack took an accidental nose dive to the ground at my last trooping event and the mortar tube cracked/ shattered in a few places. My first mistake was making it out of a thin acryllic shipping tube (I did that for the light weight factor). Anyway, it is a 2.5" diameter tube and worked well with fitting the AM armor thermal detonator parts I have on it.
However, I am aware that most of you guys use thermal detonator parts designed for a 2" diameter ABS tube.
I've looked high and low in my local area hardware stores, Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. for the 2" black ABS tubing and just can't find anything. I have some 501st events coming up real soon and need to get my pack fixed ASAP!
Could any of you kind people help me out with obtaining the appropriate thermal detonator parts and a new tube? It would be so GREATLY appreciated.
