  1. I ran some acrylic washes here and there, looks more "realistic" now. I'll have to take some new shots.
  2. Thanks, At the time I bought the deactivated parts (shown in 1st image) from ApexGunParts.com for about $125. The Apex kit came with everything but the receiver tube basically. I've noticed though that Apex has raised their price for this kit a bit to $150 or so. Anyhow, I bought the main receiver off a guy on GunBroker.com, but I've seen other sites that sell them, even pre-drilled tubes. Usually run you about $80 for a pre-drilled tube. I had purchased a second spring to put in my MR E-11 blaster. That's why you see two in the 1st image, they don't normally come with two. MR Blaster
  3. Did some weathering to it, added the power cylinders and wires. Might do a light wash, just to add some dirt to it.
  4. I was finally able to get all the parts painted today, and then re-assembled. I will do some weathering on it once it dries a bit more, but I'm pretty happy with it so far. Also swapped out the counter with an eagle logo Hengstler, and will add the power cylinders once those dry. I suppose the wires will have to be added as well.
  5. I was finally able to track down a Hengstler counter with an eagle logo!
  6. Also working on the flat section of the Receiver tube towards the front. Finished the scope rail and filled in the gap on the bottom scope. Added a counter, and some T-Tracks
  7. A work in progress still obviously, but I think it's going rather well... better than I expected actually! Now I just need to clean up some of the JB weld here and there, on the inside especially. And I should be able to get all the parts in there, because right now... I can't get the trigger or the magazine to go in. So, I'll have to file it down a bit more inside. I have yet to purchase a barrel for it, and I'm waiting for the bolt/pin to arrive in the mail.
  8. My next project... where to begin? Worked on the blaster some more today. I have some JB Weld curing on it now, but here's some of the work I did on the individual parts. I wanted to keep the targeting details on the front the same, so I decided to cut around them. I wanted to save the locking mech for the back cap. So I took off a bit of the pipe and used it inside for added support. Misc parts, clean ups, etc. I'm going to attempt to add this flat side to the receiver tube eventually. I love this detail, and it's often missed on blasters.
  9. Thanks! Yeah, I think you were right. I like it a lot better now. Thanks for your input, much appreciated! Well, I started with Rustoleum Plastic Primer, then Rustoleum Gloss White. Then I did a series of washes using Tube Acrylic Paints, with black, brown and tan. Then I scrubbed some of it off, and sprayed parts with Rustoleum Camo Khaki (flat), and immediately blotted that stuff with some paint thinner on a microfiber cloth. If you push the rag across the surface of the paint, you get these real interesting shapes that look quite natural. Anywhere that I wiped to much off I would just blot it again with the paint on the cloth. Good advice thank you! Thank you Trooper!
  10. Display. I did a build tutorial on this helmet. See it here.
  11. I did some more work to this helmet today. I think I can safely say that it's finally finished! Hooray!
  12. Was thinking the same. Thanks! Just ordered my pouches from Zaddok (2 straights), and just dyed my shoulder pouch black. Still looking for a leather one though.
  13. These are the only other photos I have available (at the moment), I will find or take some more.
  14. Opinions guys? Wondering if it needs another pass? It doesn't look "oily" I know, but...

They make Stucco (for canvas paint base) with sand in it. It comes white.
