I saw those at the store the other day... $6 for 4 tiny erasers! Pbbbbtttt!
-
Honestly,
I would just avoid ebay altogether and buy the parts from a maker on here.
ATA (affordable Trooper Armor) would be a good choice. Terrell's the man!

Yeah, I agree with Nick ... or buy someone's preassembled kit on here.

What they said

I've used white silicone before. It worked well.

I wanna do another sterling conversion! It's a lot of work but it's worth it!

I wasn't rippin' on ya brother. Just helping people make their costumes as accurate as possible.Lol, I re-read my original post and I can see why you thought I was referring to the repro's. I found my pouches through a friend at http://www.manions.com/

Which one, the one that curves kinda funny?I still need to find that funky right hip ammo pouch though. Looks like it's probably a repro or something the prop makers made. It's completely different than the left hip or shoulder pouches which are definitely genuine MP40 pouches (leather). Mine are of the canvas variety, which I'm fine with. At the tiny price I paid for real WWII ones I can definitely live with that, lol! I heard that someone makes those types of pouches (repro 3 slot MP40 leather) here on MEPD?

I don't know man, this one looks like leather to me. The edges looks too thick, and square (like cut leather) to be canvas. I swear I saw a leather one (just like the one inn the photo) on ebay not too long ago. I'll have to see if I can find the photo on my computer at home.
I do think some of the other one's use in ANH were probably canvas. But the one in this capture looks leather to me.

There's a guy on here that makes those. I bought my three cell hip pouches from him. I'll dig up his name.
here you go!

I thought I would share some photos I took of this lid a while back ... I eventually had to let it go to help pay bills.
-
Where did everybody go!? LOL!
One thing I noticed ... was they had electrical tape wrapped over the twist ties that hold the lab tube (or whatever it's called) to the frame.

one step ahead of ya!
I have BluRay screen-grabs posted here... in 1080.
click the download button at the top of the screen and it will prepare a batch folder. Otherwise your only grabbing smaller preview pics.

TD on the left
Same TD on the right this time.

Says it's a replica bud.
And the flaps on the three cells (#1) should be straight across, not tapered.
That smaller pouch wasn't right either, it's missing the strap (#3)... which looks like the three cell straps (#2).
I saw one of these on ebay recently (the real thing) ... But the guy wanted (I think) something like $600 for it!

I just received my second 3D print for the mini HOVI ... I scaled it down to the correct scale this time. I have to say, this one turned out much better... even though it's even smaller! So, the next step will be to make a mold of it and cast a copy. Then I'll clean up the casting a bit... I want to put real screen in there.
Anyhow, here's a crappy iPhone shot of the tip sitting on a penny. Hard too see the details.

Do you have any shots of the sides, and possibly one that's straight on?

Made some changes... I added a few subtle details, made it wider. Should be a bit more accurate than before.
I have a 3D print quote for $700... it's a the best quality I can get, while keeping it under a grand.
I would like to keep the casting under $100... Hopefully I can sell more than 7 castings.
Here's the latest version of the model.
