The thread with the VW add got me thinking about something i thought i would share with you guys A few years ago a group of us travelled around different locations having our picture taken at Famous land marks in London, we did it for charity and we had a real good time. i seem to have misplaced a lot of the pictures but this one has survived ... Some of you may now the story of why Abbey Road is famous and we tried to replicate one of the most iconic Albumn covers in History. before you see the picture i will just explain a few things. The white wall you see in the background is actually part of the studio itself and people come from all over the world to write on it, also what a lot of people dont realise is there is a live action camera situated on a lamp post looking down over the Zebra Crossing there is a website where you can watch people taking their lives into their hands by stopping for pictures. When we did the same the Studio crew came rushing out to get pictures of their own and we ended up being invited into the studio even though it was actually closed to the public that day. We were told that because or our stunt the website had hundreds of hits that day, our only regret is that we didnt get to video it and host it on you tube. so here is the picture, im the sandtrooper at the back

Exactly, and lets face it Sand wouldnt get you as dirty as those Sandtroopers we see on screen which again leads me to think they are a Specalised unit shipped in solely for the purpose of Seek and destroy from else where, however thinking about it Vader orders a detachment sent to the planet but again is this from the Star Destroyer or another near by planet .............

Yeah i thought this too, in the prequel Qui Gon mentions that the Hutts control Tattooine and then moving Forward to ANH and ROTJ we get a first hand glimpse that the Hutts do indeed control the planet, we already now that a day passes by due to the twin suns sunset so im kind of leaning towards that perhaps a few days have gone by or the Imperial Stormtroopers move pretty quickly I kind of like the idea that Sandtroopers are a specialised Unit within the Empire and are dropped into military action as and when needed sort of the Grunts of the Empire. cireky the mind boggles with the SW universe, any more thoughts from anyone

How much time are we talking between Vader "Sending down a detachment to retrive the death star plans on Tattooine to the Sandtroopers watching the Falcon blast off from Docking 94. My point being the Sandtroopers got dirty quick time, and spread their Detachment pretty quick throughout the planet and on top of that they captured and Trained dewbacks too im inclined to think was there already an Imperial outpost on Tattooine, im not picking at the movie just intriqued on your thoughts

That site is owned by Tony Barnet a top top guy and a member of the UKG he was the one that first got me into this hobby ohh many years ago now, hes very knowlegdable, his site has been around quite a while now. we actually had a long debate a long while ago about sandtrooper Pouches, i was convinced they used Canvas as well as leather but Tony was adamant only leather were used, eventually it i was proved correct and many of the UK Sandtroopers were able to be cleared using the Canvas type, the actual ones in my picture below actually. My point being Tony was very gracious in defeat

im sorry if this is in the wrong place. I just like to express my gratitude to a member of this outstanding forum, firstly as i non member here i have been treated with the utmost respect from day one and i hope as non costuming member you will allow me to continue to be a part of your great community. Secondly i have been building a Mini TD for my son as you know and although the actual armour pieces are of inferior quality (i since found there are better mini armour kits available) i have tried my best to make my son look the part by becoming one of his hero's a Sandtrooper. Many PMs back and forth about the possibility of having a back pack built for him, John Hopper TD2557 sent me the pack he had built for his own son ........ On Picture the Pack looks great, in my hand the Pack is an outstanding piece of work and i am absolutely over the moon with it, actual words cant describe the craft and workmanship that has gone into this Mini Back pack, god only knows how good his full size ones are, the mind boggles. But that is not all attached to the Pack is a mini Sandtrooper Pouch and also a couple of TD2557 collector cards so now when my son comes home from school i can show him who made him his Back pack. As you can tell im a very happy person right now, Thank you John for your generosity, your time and most of all my making my son a happy little Sandtrooper , i just wish there was someway to repay you for the extra mile you have gone. And please pass on also a big thank you to your son if there is anything i can send him from the UK please let me know it would be my pleasure and the least i could do. my sons helmet is a 3 piece helmet now that its together im not overly happy with it as it has a horrible line all around it, what is the best thing to fill this with, Car body filla??? sand and paint or is there a better method

Another thing about the Luke - Obiwan situation, during ANH Luke clearly brushes off the Voice of Obi-wan and when Obi wan first appears to Luke in ESB it would seem that this is also not a regular occurence. lol i thought they were different helmets, so in that case youve done a great job i really like it. as for the obscure helmets thats a great idea let me finish my "move along" and il give it a bash i saw a helmet once painted like Darth Maul looked awsome, cant remember where i saw it though

Since joining here ive re-newed my interest in the OT i watched ESB last night i cant help wondering what happened between ANH and ESB. my main observation is Luke Skywalker, if he is the last of the Jedi (he not having met Yoda yet) then how does he know how to use the force to retrieve his Lightsaber in the Wampas lair, Obi Wan dies before he can give Luke any meaningful lessons. On board the Executor when Vader is giving his orders to the group of Bounty Hunters why does he single out Boba Fett when he says "No disintergrations" have Vader and Fett had previous dealings. im sure there are some of you that may know or read books about the time line therefore im interested to know. Another point that always puzzled me is how did Fett know that Han solo would use a Star Destroyer to cloak their whereabouts and then float away ..... again have their paths crossed before. i think it would have been really cool if in ANH we actually saw Boba Fett place a homing device on the Falcon, why go through the trouble of adding Fett to the Special Editions just to have him have 10seconds of screen time and not do anything
